The problem with having mercs in your team is that they are mercs and can ditch you anytime.

England set up with all the revenue coming from SKY deal and their local T20 tourney should invest a tad more in the local grown talent rather than depending on imports.

Maybe the England cricket set up needs a bit of "grow your own produce and support the local talent".

Fail, I think I predicted this, let me find it!

Sreesanth to run through the English lineup with a 6-43. England ao for 150.

England bowlers to go for 4-600 in the first innings, wicket to Trott, KP apiece. Two to Bresnan.

And to top it England team is playing in ENGLAND in their home conditions and against the worst fast/medium/spin attack in the world and then too it's 86/5...

Wonder what will happen when they tour the subcontinent-even the net bowlers will have them for breakfast....

Wait till Indians bat here before passing judgment on the English line-up

In the morning session, they showed the pitch, it literally has little patches of grass on it. With overcast conditions, the ball swings considerably more

Not looking for an excuse, English batsmen should be familiar with the conditions..

Wow what is happening out there. I left the scorecard on 85/3 and all of the sudden 88/6. They are losing wicket for every run they score.

Need a biiiiiig partnership to save the Test here.

Whats Nasser saying now??

Soundbite from Nasser now??

Beefy your #1 team cant even bat in home conditions that too against an attack of PK/Sree/Ishant/Harbie....

India is better off not batting today, since they are relying on the top order in this test's lineup

Home conditions are only considered for sub continent teams :D..more often that not only for india

You are a mind reader or what? I was thinking the exact same thing.

Around a week ago, some dude here was trying to tell me that all the games which Pakistan will play till teams start visiting Pakistan again, will be AWAY games. So yes, looks like we are the only ones playing at home.

Fawad but then every1 here says is that India are crap and England can beat them with one arm tied behind.

Cheerleaders keep cheering. England lead the series 1 nil.

It was all expected guys, this ground is suppose to be a pacer's heaven, keep it in mind. I would have expected same scorecard had Indians batted

Can they make 150? Hard to see with this kind of cathing from India.

people say that here for its entertainment value. we don't have much cricket going on back home, we gotta do something...lol

Fail, I think I predicted this, let me find it!

Do not lose hope. England have got a deep enough batting line up + a world class bowling attack. Probably the best in the world right now. I fear for Indian batsmen here:sami

wow

I guess it's Ian Bell yet to save England again :))

This is the part where our bowlers lack a lot, we are not good at finishing tail. Lets see if we let them go past 150.

4 wickets in last hour!

Credit to Indians, would've liked a little more action in the morning session, but they surely are making up for that

Looks like luck is favoring England. If they get over 200 that would be really be a big relief and confident booster for them.

No surprises so far. Always thought India were a shoo-in to win this test.

We can still come back if we bowl well though.

guys, its a long game, and only the first day. anything can happen, just hoping for an Indian win :)

This where India needs the killer instinct to finish of the tail which Pakistan was (when they had the bowlers) were simply awesome at....

Come on England, get to 250 at least

I expect the tail to hit around and score some quick runs

So what's the odds on a Broad 169?

Nah, he's had his one good game of the series.

"Meanwhile Dravid silently takes his 400th international catch,"

From cricinfo.

Congrats Dravid!

I have this thing called a social life so regrettably I haven't been on the Internet until now...

About time he contributed a significant innings when the chips are down. I know you're a fan but most of his runs do come in gentle circumstances. There's the odd exception of course.

Whippy mate any chance of getting a soundbite of what the Nass legend is upto?

England look a bit overcooked to us reading the biased cricinfo, wondering what the unbiased Nass is on about?

Thing to notice is the sudden appearance of Indian posters. you guys really come in flocks when india is doing well.

I think there were only 2 indians here in the morning session

:))

Just to confirm for our anxious Indian friends here,

Nasser is not in the Combox yet, I repeat he is NOT in the commentary box.

:nasser

you have no social life when you guys are winning :))

What are you on about dude? Take a hike.

Drop to rival Gibbs in the World Cup there...even the Sky wicket column had to move back :))

Reading your posts, you are speaking too soon. When/if you win this match then you can start this Nass stuff.
