This is LOI. there is no bazball, gasball. You have to play aggressively anyway.

Depends on pitch.

England tried aggressive batting on Bangladeshi dustbowl pitches (T20). It didn't work. They lost all games.

On certain pitches, playing aggressive may backfire.

Kohli is fit so jaiswal is likely gonna dropped. Pathetic

Rohit and kohli should dropped instead jaiswal .

I want to see one day jaiswal and Abhishek opening in ODI cricket.

As per cricinfo, iyer will be out .I hope so.

No Iyer is most important player in the Middle order and he Play spinner very well .

Iyer place is fixed at 4.

:kp
As per cricinfo,it seems gambhir is fixated with left and right combo.he wants one at the top , middle and lower order.lets hope he persists like that .Jaiswal missed a golden chance in first match.

Very unfair on Iyer, lol.

I have no problem giving Jaiswal a run. But that comes at a cost of Iyer. It is Rohit and Kohli that need to be kicked out.

England have to look to bat out entire 50 overs. Instead of going too hard , they need to rotate the strike properly and try and get some solid partnerships in middle overs.

One of the openers need to dig deep here.

India have very strong batting , with Axar and Jadeja both batting like proper batsmen.

Nasser Hussain, while speaking on the local English sports media podcast:

"It's followed similar paths, hasn't it? Most of the games, even the T20Is, have seen periods where they've been in the game and then a clumsy mistake like that [around Phil Salt's run-out in the first ODI]. Then, spin comes on. Ravindra Jadeja bowls beautifully. The T20Is they lost and they lost a lot of those games by spin as well."

"So India, obviously in that final in the World Cup in Ahmedabad, they won the T20 World Cup, so they're a formidable white-ball side. And also, the depth to Indian cricket. Abhishek Sharma in those T20Is - wow, what a player! Shubman Gill comes back in. Virat Kohli doesn't play. Whoever they pick, they are a wonderful side."

"But English white-ball cricket has been way off for quite some time now from where it was under [Eoin] Morgan and [Trevor] Bayliss. So, I do think it's a very important few months ahead."

England have won the toss and have opted to bat

England (Playing XI): Philip Salt(w), Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler(c), Liam Livingstone, Jamie Overton, Gus Atkinson, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Saqib Mahmood

India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul(w), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Varun Chakravarthy

Gavaskar seems to be in auto pilot mode.standard irritating answers for any queries by co commies.he is like an engineering student who wants to fill out the answer sheet with some garbage

On record, this was just Axar Patel's second drop catch in ODI cricket. Before this ODI, he was the safest fielder in the Indian side, boasting a catch efficiency of 96.2%.

I definitely want 350+ from England even we can lost the match .

Don't care about result but indian oldies are need to be tested before champion trophy .

India has all the talent in the world, but the main reason India hasn’t won many ICC trophies is because of their clueless selectors who value IPL more than domestic cricket. Look at this Indian playing XI apart from Shami; you won’t find a proper specialist fast bowler. Harshit Rana has only played 14 List-A games. Varun, the leg spinner, has also got a very small List-A cricket sample size. Aksar and Jadeja are both in the playing XI, which is ridiculous because one of them should be replaced with a proper batsman.

England selectors are also clueless, picking players with less domestic experience and not suitable for the formats they have been selected for. Where is Sam Hain? He is averaging nearly 60 in List-A cricket, yet he can't find a place in the ODI team. Apart from Saqib Mahmood and Jofra Archer, the bowling averages of England ODI bowlers in List-A cricket are mediocre. I am not sure what they think when they select players? On the basis of potential? You don’t think select players for international cricket on the basis of potential. You select them on the basis of domestic stats.

How is the pitch @Ahmed216 ?

:kp
😃
Only watched a couple of overs but looks truer than last game. Easy paced surface this one.
Last game was a bit double paced also.

Hot conditions could mean this pitch will aid the spinners a bit more in 2nd innings.

But England have a just 1 proper spinner so they need to score 300 at least.

Also their pacers need to bowl fuller and straighter. Bowling short here the ball just sits up nicely to be dispatched.

Hope England have learned their lessons from the last game.

India so far has bowled wayward, dropped 2 catches and no intensity in the field this is
England best chance to WIN but what they will do is anyone's guess?

Average 1st innings score here since 2014 is 351 .

England please don't disappoint me . score atleast over 320 if not 350+

:kp

Harry Brooks is so trash vs spin. Just a hack against spin. Quality pace player though

Good partnership so far . england needs minimum 70-80 runs partnership to score Over 330+

:kp

Kane, Smith, Root should all quit from ODIs. Smith can once in a while play good innings. But LOIs have left them behind.

Rohit and kohli will make fool of themselves in case of a big score.manjrekar wants rohit to play till ct campaign ending and check whether his odi form is concerning or not.typical Mumbai biased commie.

Pretty strong argument that catch shouldn't have been out given Gill was still stumbling when he released the ball.

Chris Brown didn't give a marginal decision our way and that's fine. But Root was plumb . Pathetic umpiring.

Alot of discussion has gone on Pakistani Stadiums, but when I peeked over the neighbors match, turns out they have to give showers to the fans there

ok so in Lords they also have a guy carrying a water spray gun and spraying water on people??

Just so you know, those spray nozzles and tank is often used for spraying pesticides.....

But anyways, i thought it was interesting ever since Indian fans and media were concerned about our stadium and our stadiums roof, than they forgot Barabati Stadium has no roof.
