Pakistan walk away as a happy bunch after a remarkable comeback. At lunch, it looked like they might concede a significant lead, but they took control from that point onward. Saud Shakeel displayed immense patience and solid technique to handle the English spinners, with strong support from Noman Ali and Sajid Khan, both of whom scored impressive 40s. This effort turned what seemed like an inevitable deficit into a valuable 77-run first innings lead.

Energized, Pakistan returned to the field and tore through England's top order. Duckett was caught on the back foot, Crawley was beaten by a slider, and Pope struggled with his low-handed technique.

Now, it's all on Joe Root to guide England through what's increasingly looking like a challenging pitch. They trail by 53 runs with 7 wickets in hand.

Teams:

Pakistan
(Playing XI): Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood(c), Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan(w), Agha Salman, Aamer Jamal, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Zahid Mahmood

England (Playing XI): Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes(c), Jamie Smith(w), Gus Atkinson, Rehan Ahmed, Jack Leach, Shoaib Bashir

Don't think England will let go of their sweep assault which always leaves the door open to plenty of chances.
We won't have to chase more than 150.

Feeling confident of a win here after seeing our batting. One big thing with spin track and facing spin our team feels much more confident also. I think pressure is all on England to save the match. My prediction is England 180 all out leaving around 100 to chase which should be very easy. I would consider sending Nauman and sajid to have a go and reduce target as much as possible leaving lots of batsmen to do whatever is left.

Not confident about our batting at the last innings. Spin is most effective with the harder new ball

Sajid and noman chacha should be able to wrap up things quickly.

It was stupidity to leave noman chacha for that nerd abrar who is so average and good for nothing.

Chacha noman is 1000 times better than that nerd and chacha is always handy with the bat as well.

Sajid Khan, really like him as a player. So much positive energy and fighting spirit this lad has...Too bad he was found 7 years late.

Expecting a Joe Root match winning 150 today..

Cracker of a day ahead.

Lets get this done. Quick wickets, small chase, won't be entirely straightforward

I'm enjoying the humiliation in pune

Given the amount of turn on-offer, it will take something special for England to win this. Almost every ball is turning prodigiously. As a spin-bowler you are constantly in the game.

With this kind of cricket, Pakistan should try to grab some sponsors and arrange 4 match series

I want pakistan to win, but I also want root to score a 100 to shut some people up. He isn't a flat track bully lol. But granted he isn't in the class of Lara, Sachin, 2014-2020 Steve smith either

If England give Pak a target of 200 runs and Pak bat in the last session this could be an interesting game.
Most number of wickets fall in evening session

Rubbish player Abdullah. Pure definition of a parchi. Babar fast tracked this bafoon based of 7 list A games and I believe 8 to 10 FC games?

Trash recognises trash.

Shan Masood is such a fraud. Rubbish captain. Riding on the success of 2 spinners who saved him.

Garbage cricketer

Pitch has become benign. This partnership is taking the game away.

That was a drop, crucial.

Could be looking at 250+ here

Yessss there is that big breakthrough. Brook gone. Get Root quickly now and I think this game is in the bag.

Don't think it's said often enough because hats off to Rizwan for his consistently great wicketkeeping skills. England WK dropped Saud early in his innings and he made them pay. When you get a chance, you need to take it and Rizwan is excellent at his fielding skills in that position.

He has been rubbish in batting but has raised the bar in his core job. The only thing he has to do is bat below Agha.

Next white ball captain with complete authority

As I been saying his wicketkeeping makes a lot of difference, Pakistan used to have wicket keeper drop important catches. Compare that with Jamie dropping Saud and how costly that was and in last match also pretty poor keeping by him. Also Rizwan is the one who is motivating the bowlers and giving them constant tips

Very shocking Stokes has such a low average vs Pakistan. It was a runs galore last time they were here.

The real Chacha strikes again, but what was Stoke doing. It seems it's not just Pakistani who crack under pressure.

Pakistan have won this. No chance for england.

Unless Root and Smith pull double hundreds out their butts, England ain't winning

England still trailing and they are 5 down. Nauman chacha turning it on in the 2nd innings again.

I still can't fathom Sajid & Nauman are saving Pakistan's Test cricket. Everyone was so enraged when they were named in the squads, how they're old and mediocre etc... It goes to show you, if you make pitches that aren't lifeless and can help bowlers take wickets, they will. Pakistan seamers have been fine bowling away from home too. Hopefully this is the start of Pakistan being great at home again.

Since 24 July, 2020

Matches 42 , Wickets - 47, Bowling average - 33.78

Batting average - 30.02

Doesn't bowl enough, doesn't score enough runs.

Stokes has been mediocre for way too long

Ben Stokes has had a series to forget, marked by poor captaincy, a string of dismissals, and uninspiring body language on the field. His performances with the bat made him appear like a walking wicket. It’s a chapter he’ll want to close quickly and move on from as soon as possible.
