After this series, I've come to the conclusion that all of our batsmen are overrated except Hafeez, who is kind of underrated.

Such limited batsmanship. A pain to watch.

Misbah has done ok considering hes about to retire. Also i think shafiq has been brilliant and hasnt struggled vs pace. I think babar and haris will do well vs pace too whev replace malik and misbah. All of sarfrazs dismissals were soft too

The problem with Moha is that he is amazing but the not carry to slips will all be out in England.

And so many other edges would fly to the slips/gully.

Seems like a sincere batsman. Maybe down the order could work better but very hard to make it as opener for overseas tours.

I understand the no other option angle but someone must be technically solid in Pak domestic for England tour.

Asad is underrated.

They have been exposed in UAE. Imagine in England :))

I want to 'un-book' my tickets to the games now. Will be painful to watch.

Even Indian batsmen struggled last year in England so it's no biggie.

And these two, Rahat in particular are renowned for wayward line and length.

No we didnt. Aus just had Lyon in the first test. Runs were scored of pacers as well. Shehzad, Azhar and YK were all really good against pace upfront in that series.

We will lose in Eng. Might win one test but thats just it.

True about playing in the U.A.E. Its suited to one dimensional cricket. Thats why others have struggled here as well be it against pace or spin.

Rahat Ali just gave one run in his spell of 6 overs yesterday morning. Wahab gave around 13 in 9 in Dubai.

The ERs of the pacers were around 2 runs per over for the better part except for that one innings where Misbah scored the fastest hundred.

We were very cautious against Johnson and Siddle who aren't skillful enough like Steyn, Anderson and Boult to create problems, since they are not good exponents of reverse-swing.

In short, this tactic works against certain teams but we seem to be adopting it against everyone.

Azhar should be one of the openers. Babar can be the other. With Haris at three; it shapes up to be solid top order. Much, much better than the current one.

English bits & pieces spinners have Zero impact on this turner, probably Pluncket would have been a better choice.

Lucky shot for 4 over slip by hafeez

lots of chances given by pakistan this morning

Lead 113 now, still need atleast another 150 runs here.

Hafeez living dangerously today, not going to moan as long as the runs keep flowing.

Would love to see our batsmen against Adam Milne in NZ in Tests. It will be be spectacle.

This is just not good batting.

I think, 1st battle is won - Jimmy's morning spell negotiated without any damage. 113/3 effectively - with Jimmy out for an hour at least, PAK should be damn upset if they don't win this Test.

Broad hasn't been impressive IMO - bowls too short and a bit wide. Of course we cannot score against him to save our lives, but he hasn't been very good at all.

Finn would have been lethal here.

The negativity on this thread about Pakistani team is becoming a bit tedious in my opinion.

It's clear we are up against it in England who have proven themselves to be an excellent test side overseas - but for some moments of madness.

Having said that, this is a subject for other threads - how to prepare for England or roll over and die.

At this stage, in this moment, the match is poised to be a cracker!

Yaar, ye pacers kitni bowling karein gay? Give the spinners a chance to bowl in tandem. It's clear that Pakistan are not going to take risks against the pacers, so they won't lose their wickets. It's in England's best interests to bowl the spinners and try to buy some wickets here.

plenty of loose balls on offer from the england pie floaters.

Exactly, you don't hear English commentators and fans crying about how England will fare in India or the UAE when they're bowling teams out for 150 at Lords and Old Trafford.

It's this inferiority complex that too many Asians have.

Yasir is overrated on here - Taylor will take him to the cleaners next innings.

Can't believe people still want Hafeez dropped. It's great that the management will never do something that stupid or ever think about moving Azhar from his permanent spot at #3. Our top order will be Hafeez, Babar (perhaps) and Azhar, which will be great.

Hafeez has the ability to score a 300 in Tests and 200 in ODIs, which he most likely won't.

He has underachieved to be honest - had he improved at a younger age, he could have achieved a lot of records.

Not many wickets for Moeen or Rashid in this test, I am disappoint. :amla

I don't think India or SA will fancy facing this English team. We have done well maximizing our conditions.

Hope we keep our heads for the next 4-5 sessions. It's the end of the line - must keep focus.

Moeen has come to bowl with 2 set right handers, with a 70 overs old ball - may be he 'll need to hit a 100 to make up...........

Hafeez is taking Ali lightly again. They never learn, do they?

Are you basically suggesting we pick the worse spinners that also can't bat as much because we don't want all rounders in the team...?

196 vs NZ and 135* vs England by Mohammad 'minnow basher' Hafeez.

Considering that we have a very weak tail and we have already shown the tendency to lose wickets quickly, we can't count our chickens yet.

I feel controlled aggression is a better way than all our defense at this stage. 250 is by no means certain here.

Lead is 143, the new ball spell from england bowlers after lunch could be make or break for them in this game.

No, I am suggesting, bits & pieces cricketers works in LOs, may be in Counties (oblate), not in Test cricket. You pick 4 bolwers on bowling merit & then try to extract as much from them with bat. I don't mind a 8, 9, 10 & Jack of Waquar, McGrath, Mulai & Walshi, with a WK at 7 as good as Wasim Bari with bat. Had Jimmy not raised his game here, PAK would have batted once against those so called spin-all-rounders.

is it true broad tried to tamper with the ball? Ptv sports page is showing some pictures.
