If ICC bans spinners altogether, we will struggle to retain our Test status; most of our batsmen will average below 30.

Only this series its happened. Usually we can score off the quicks. Its because of the oldies Misbah & YK. I hate this tactic.

Poor Bullet Drive, he's turned into Savak recently and each ball Misbah survives is another dagger to his heart.

If Finn wasn't injured and England had played Taylor in all three Tests, they would have won the series.

It is pretty clear that they are a much better Test team.

Huh??

If they ban fast bowlers Aus might as well say goodbye to test cricket.

Same goes for Eng. 500 plus scores each innings against them even from BD.

Best thing about Hafeez is he can hook and pull.

His only problem is swing bowling, but who does well vs swing?!?!

But they are not winning the series, there are always ifs and buts.

True.

We are very lucky Finn was injured.

They still have to win this test

Finn at best would have been as good as wood, he aint no wonder kid

Another 150 runs and we are SAFE.

Will we do it?

Can Misbah, Hafeez, Shafiq & Sarfraz score 250?

If Yasir wasnt injured for the 1st test, had Azhar played all three games and had we said goodbye to Babar before the series; we could have won 3-0.

See how this game of ifs goes??

I don't know how long he can continue, but if PAK keeps Jimmy further wicket less in this spell 80% job done. He can't come back effectively before lunch.

Can we score another 200!!!! In Sha ALLAH our bowlers are good enough to defend 300.

Yeah, I'm sure they will receive an open top bus parade and be invited to Downing Street to celebrate their momentous 3-0 clean sweep of moral victories in the test series. Probably have a few OBEs and CBEs being handed out by the Queen too.

Australia and England can score against spin in their backyards, we crap our pants against pace everywhere. That's the difference.

We are good against pace. Our batsman bar YK & Misbah like pace on the bat.

Azhar has looked very poor after performing Hajj, and Malik scored 245 in the first Test. I doubt if it would have mattered much.

Yasir maybe but the Abu Dhabi wicket for the first four days was ridiculously flat.

Beating England 2-0 whilst Botham on commentary. Does it get better?

Come on Pakistan.

Azhar was lacking match practice. 115 balls he faced will do wonders for Odis. Lekh Kay Lee lo

Berbi seems too much concern about the ball:13: Time to change it?

I am having nightmares of England tour already

Hafeez number two on all time highest century scorer by Pakistan opener

Based on what??

We scored fine against SA, Eng 2012, Aus and NZ.

Its just been this series which is a clear tatic on the part of Waqar and Co. Dont play shots of Broad and Anderson. Ridiculous but thats what they have decided.

Misbah has been like this most of his career. Younis was terrible this match but usually he does fine vs pace atleast in these conditions. Did fine in the last test as well; where you used the phrase surprisingly brave.

If PAK don't lose a wicket in next 20 minutes, we are almost their.

10 mins before drinks. And we then always lose a wicket after drink.

The best thing about Hafeez is with every hundred he makes, we say its his best test hundred. Sign of a quality bat.

Why? We know the spinners are the weak link in the England attack and it's hard to time the ball against the quick bowlers on slow, low pitches. See off the seamers and feast on the spinners, it's a sensible strategy and it's worked.

Seamers are more dangerous in England but it's also easier to score runs off them.

We did the same vs. Australia and NZ. Scoring a few sixes after you have scored 500 doesn't really count. We have always been very tentative against pace.

Playing one-dimensional cricket in the UAE has regressed our ability to play fast bowling. It is embarrassing now.

If we can't dominate Anderson and Broad here, what will we do in England?

#PakvEng The lead is 105, Pakistan are 177/4 with Hafeez on 118 - crucial first session in progress. ..

Solid innings by Misbah so far. He is decent against pace by our standards.

Edged but falls short

Lbw appeal. Missing leg

Survival mode on

These oldies will be exposed.

Will hate it, but another toldddd ya so moment I guess.

I hope they both retire after this series.
What I Told ya so??

Half the forum has been saying it

Still a lot of time left before July - never know what can happen.

Hats off to Moha. Played a quality knock. Done the hard work this morning. Now middle session must cash in and get 180+

After this series, I've come to the conclusion that all of our batsmen are overrated except Hafeez, who is kind of underrated.

Such limited batsmanship. A pain to watch.

By our standards he is playing an unbelievable knock. Will go down in Wisdens top 10 knocks by a Pakistani against pace bowling in 2015.

Asad is underrated.

They have been exposed in UAE. Imagine in England :))

I want to 'un-book' my tickets to the games now. Will be painful to watch.

Once seamers come off we need to be aggresive and score as many runs as possible before the new ball is due which will be after lunch as england will have another blast then with their seamers, we cant just go into block mode here we need to try and increase lead as much as possible at a decent pace.

On last legs Misbah has had a great series

No we didnt. Aus just had Lyon in the first test. Runs were scored of pacers as well. Shehzad, Azhar and YK were all really good against pace upfront in that series.

We will lose in Eng. Might win one test but thats just it.

True about playing in the U.A.E. Its suited to one dimensional cricket. Thats why others have struggled here as well be it against pace or spin.

Rahat Ali just gave one run in his spell of 6 overs yesterday morning. Wahab gave around 13 in 9 in Dubai.

From BBC

How's stat?!

Andrew Samson
BBC Test Match Special statistician
"The last time England got a wicket with a stumping was Mumbai in 2012, when Matt Prior stumped India's Cheteshwar Pujara off Graeme Swann. They have gone 37 Tests without a stumping."
