South Africa vs India | 2nd test | Ahmedabad | 3/4/2008 to 7/4/2008

Alright... SAffers will be all out by 150 - 200..ok lunch time..

Would still represent a decent lead .Realistically though with indias weak bowling attack S.a should made 300 plus . If this pitch was in south africa they would call it slow and flat .

We would be happy to concede a 100+ runs lead, but anything less will be bonus. Yea we are playing a second string bowling attack. no Zaheer, no Ishant, no Tendulkar..On the other hand you have your best side :p

Forgot SA's 83 at J'berg? :))

Don't know what Tendulkar could have done in these situations. :6:

Zaheer and ishant who ? A nobody and a neverwas ?

Where did you get the idea that I forgot that ? Every team has it's bad day . India just have them a lot against s.A .

Where did you get the idea that I forgot that ? That happened on a damp and imposible to bat on pitch. It dried out and we still bowled you out for 120 . Oh , and as always we won the series easily without india putting up much opposition .

My reply is to your comment on the track :p

I won't bother remembering their names . They will never be important enough to make it worth the effort .

Hey saffer India was not bowled out for 120..Actually saffers batted second. So the pitch suddenly became damp or what? Where are you getting all these theories mate :p

My reply is to your comment on the track

I was wrong about the 120...I was thinking about pakistan . Regards the track I said we will see after S.a bat how bad the track is .

Stop bringing up a series you lost to try and validate your useless batting on any pitch that isn't flat. other than s.a being bowled out for a low score they out scored india in ever other innings in that series .

You guys have been calling S.A bowling useless and your batsmen so brilliant etc...i'm just pointing out that if the pitch isnt flat you just can't compete ....not even against sides worse than S.A ...but certainly not against s.A/australia .

Why are so angry mate? Just chill :D

So non-flat pitch = SA pitch only?

The match is still not over , so why not wait whether we compete or not :p

We have done quite well in Australia. I think Australia's pitches were not flat :)) :)) So, I believe our batting is not "useless" in non-flat tracks :D

India are 76 all out in 20 overs . Why would you think I would be angry ? About a cricket related matter ? Come on .

So non-flat pitch = SA pitch only?

I don't know what you mean. Not flat pitch means a pitch that offers a little bit of seam/bounce/swing for the bowlers...instead of turning the bowlers into bowling machines .

No no saffer is just angry on us, so his reasons are all screwed up :p

He needs a beer to chill :D

Well you certainly have not done well in South Africa ....ever . Either their pitches were quite flat or their bowlers aren't as good as ours . To be honest it's probably a little bit of both.

Anyway...enough stupid arguing .Let's see if India can get back into the game by limiting S.a to a small lead . Unlike Indian fans I find when your side is on top it's a time to be humble .

So you admit you are not humble when you are down :p

Yeah, every one likes to be humble, only to start baseless arguments (slow tracks et al) :)))

Interesting fact from Cricinfo:

I the last six Tests in India where India were bowled out for less than 100, India have drawn three and lost three. India should take heart from those draws.

Smith beaten by a good ball....still something there for the bowlers .

the Australian tracks are flatter than they've ever been.
And yet India struggled to dominate an attack that was missing McGrath, Warne and Gillesppie.

There was this test match in 1999(i think) where IND were bowled out for 83 vs NZ and still managed to save the game

They didn't struggle to dominate. The fair result would have been a drawn series. No, please don't argue over this. And India won the series in England too recently. Were those pitches also flat?

Fk the umpire. That ball clearly going to hit the stumps

Perth93,

How did they manage to produce such a pitch at your home city? ..and that too in April.

Haha, why o'why do I get shocks after I wake up? One day Sehwag was 150 and now this..

4 nicked through the slips after a close lbw shout foir mcenzie . Not India's day so far I suppose .

Gr8 job choosing to bat first on this pitch!!..we deserved every bit of this humiliation..what was dhoni thinking...that it'd be a raging turner frm day 4???

Get pathan on..he can do the damage here....

Ishant would've pbly run thru this SA line-up as well..alas

It's not easy to bat out there right now . S.A need to be positive and ride their luck and try and play out the new ball .

I don't live there anymore, mate - I just studied there many moons ago.

The pitch isn't too lively anyway - just that the Pretenders in Blue are spoilt brats bred on featherbeds and the biff bash game.

and of course, all other teams just rolled them over

Dhoni? You mean Kumble!

Steyns bowled into the 150's plenty of times . Entire 3-4 over spells of nothing but 150+ ....so has morkel ....in the history of your cricket side you have had one ball that was registered in 150 ......that says a little bit more about YOUR pace credentials don't you think ?

Styen has a strike currently better than anyone else and averages 21 runs per wicket... I'll take that anyday over some 19 year old averaging 54 who bowled one fast ball .

Two things

i) He was praising your bowlers!

ii) He is a Pakistani

Man, you are defensive even while on top

I think many sides would relish a 148 kph bowler. India will rue the fact no one lower down managed to really form a partnership to guide them slightly out of trouble, dare I say it a Kamran Akmal style rear guard effort was required.

Credit South Africa bowlers for maintaining pressure, a few chances have gone for India but the heads have gone down already.

Hard toss to win this one.

Yeah. I was slighly glad when smith lost the toss ...it would have been tempting to bat with india's spinners looming .

Becuase we have competed in england when the pitches had soemthing in them, in Perth where the ball was seaming around. In fatc all the last few test matches we won were all on true pithces, not flat tracks.

South Africa 72 for no wicket. Inshallah we can make 600.

Here's a prediction. India will still win this :)

You beat us on a flat track where we threw away the advantage.

south africa take the lead in just 14.4 overs

Looks like a typical Indian pitch. After initial discomfort SA openers are playing like Chennai.

spot on, Indiafan.
India has won in Bridgetown, Joburg, Perth and Leeds.

My worry is that after this debacle, BCCI will revert back to type and roll out a road for the next game.

pffft .. umpires trying to save india now .. that ball pitched outside leg !

I should have said except the Pak series at home. India has done quite badly in recent series at home on spinning tracks

The thing is that this pitch is pretty much a road as well. Sure there was a little bit of movement in the morning but that's to be expected on any pitch in any test match.

good umpiring...are the indians complaining yet...
Even Kepler Wessels said half of the ball was pitching on line.
