England v Pakistan | 1st ODI | Southampton | Aug 24, 2016 | Pakistan Innings

That's how you do strike rotation, Azhar. Learn from a 22 year old

azhar ali ...... said he will be aggresive. the problem is he doesnt have the range of shots. he is not a bad batsman but he is not dynamic. sharjeel as well, he is dynamic but again no range if shots except cross bat.

Root against hafeez is a wicket taking option. He's doesn't play spin well.

He plays spin very well in LOIs. Take a look at his record in the subcontinent. Even in tests unless Herath, Ashwin are bowling he will be fine.

Runs wise we're not in a bad position WASP still above 280

Root bowled 1 over too many....You have 6 frontline bowlers and you bowl Root for so many overs??? Yeah he got the Bonus wicket that should have been the end of that

Are we making babar Azam captain or shall I figure up the 'babar Azam is viv Richards' thread

Lol they have only 5 bowlers INCLUDING Root

Again with the subcontinent nonsense. Hafeez is rubbish against all types of bowling away from Asia unless Zimbabwe.

Yes wasim comes on commentary and Azam hits a four!

Wasim is practically the Anti Rameez, Pakistan generally does well when he's in the combox.. I clearly remember how Pakistan were losing that T20 against SA and then Wasim came into the combox and Umar Gul of all people just went Crazy against Styen, Morkel and Kallis :)) :))

Too many dot balls, Pakistan's old chronic problem. Four of your top 6 are Azhar, Hafeez, Malik, Sarfraz then it will be hard to win against top teams. Most of them cannot play pace at all. Azhar is good in test only, he plays too many dots ball and does not have many shots...

Pakistan was too quick to fire Umar Akmal from Lois, he had attitude issues. But these guys does not require performance to be in the team, they are the old guys who act as coaches for young, and don't have to perform. What they have done to be in the team?? - There failures does not matter in the eyes of management and fans

Even in this series, fans are expecting Babar and Sharjeel to carry the batting. If they fail, axe will be on them as well but these four will carry on, they are not suppose to be match winners, they are there to have experience in dressing room, if they perform that's a bonus, otherwise they have done their job by being in the dressing room :14:

Umar Akmal was averaging in the 20s and 30s in his last couple of years of ODIs. He's not the solution.

What about Sami Aslam for Azhar and Haris Sohail for Hafeez ?

Azhar needs to find a press release shot against decent pacers. He has been playing enough one dayers for now. If he can't, but can bat long, I would drop hafeez.

Azhar demonstrating why he's our Test Opener and sees off the new ball in that first critical session!!

Seriously our three batting pillars in Test; Azhar, Asad and Safaraz can't score in ODIs to save their lives

Do these guys seriously have some self esteem, or I am asking for too much azhar?

Babar is in the middle and has played only 13 balls, but strike rotation is already much better. It's the usual culprits, who're worst at it.

Babar going well, Azhar will run him out right about now

Three dots from captain fantastic

The dot balls from all our batsmen so far are worrying given how explosive and deep England bat. They can make a good score look par nowadays.

Babar looking fantastic. Rotating the strike well and playing aggressive, yet safe shots for boundaries.

Umar Akmal was averaging in the 20s and 30s in his last couple of years of ODIs. He's not the solution.

What about Sami Aslam for Azhar and Haris Sohail for Hafeez ?
Haris Sohail is chronically injured...not sure why people keep bringing him up when he has clearly not recuperated.

Azam really doing well to take Root out of the order

Current world best bowling to the future world best

the way Babar is batting 23 off 17 is the way to bat in ODI's not slog like Afridi or block like Azhar.

Umar Akmal is not the solution...even if he comes back he will still be part of the problem...it was not just disciplinary issues but his on field performance as well which led to his ouster.

Umar is far better than these four. What they have done to be in the team permanently?? - Pakistan is no 9 ranked team mainly because of these batters, we are rewarding them with permanent place

Babar vs Umar: who is more hyped at same stage of their career.

Boot out Azhar and Heckfeez and top 3 problems will be sort out...Just look at the approach of Babar.

I so dont mind an Umar Akmal and Sharjeel Khan opening partnership

I'm not sure why Azhar is still defending the ball after having played nearly 10 overs. Surely he can't still be trying to get a feel for it, can he?

Wood is so fast he tore Buttler's gloves wow

We are watching 2 different matches. Babar is playing T20 and Azhar is playing test. Tha's the beauty of our LOI team

Umar is far better than these four. What they have done to be in the team permanently?? - Pakistan is no 9 ranked team mainly because of these batters, we are rewarding them with permanent place

Wasn't Umar Akmal a regular during Pakistan team's spiral to 9.....I think it was a fantastic decision to keep Shehzad,Akmal and Afridi away....just have patience and you will start doing well....This coming from an Indian fan...it is so obvious to see.
