Shafiq is a good batsman to watch. I so hope that one day he can also become a good ODI player.
 
English commentators are fans of Asad I hope they hype him a lot so he gets the credit he deserves. Peformances in England will help anyway.

Shafiq is going very good!! - Pakistan is too conservative with him, by now he should have batted up the order in any team
 
Nice flick by misbah put finn under pressure. He's not as strong mentally as Jimmy or Broad

Well done to Shafiq. Come a long way. Remember wasn't too long ago people on here were screaming that umar should have been playing instead of Shafiq.
 
Let's take Asad 32 now, that gives him at least 5 great years ahead. From the very next innings, he should be played at 3 in Test & may be at 4 in ODI!!!!!

PAK has to move out of the vicious circle -

Open Spot (May be Sami or even Imam, who knows)
Babar
Saud
Asad
Haris
Rizwan/Umar

That should be the ODI line-up for 2019 .......
 
Easy picking for the two batters. New ball 10 overs away. These two have to be around the otherwise we could be blown away by the end of the day.

Out of 75, may be 5 or 6 are against Moeen, rest against pacers.

This lineup is perfect.
 
They can keep playing till 6:00 PM? - Right now time is 3:18 PM... It could be 100 overs

Brilliant innings from Asad Shafiq, he's taken the game away from England. 300-4 at the end of close will do us nicely.

England bowlers getting exposed when there is not much assistance from the pitch.

Pak should look to pile on a big score. Nothing in the pitch. Flat as a pancake. Score 500 and see England crumble.
 
Most of runs have come against pace, kills the theory that we are useless againist pace. Were not the best against pace but not as awful as made out.

Most teams would struggle in typical English conditions but on these pitches like today's we can do well on them

England deserve this for selecting such an out of zone pacer.

Right from the first over, his action looked weird.

Now they have to pay the price.
 
Papa Shafiq, with his absolute classical batting, is practically quoting the great Master Yoda.....

He's been driving so will this game! I feel he'll do well in ODIs outside the UAE after watching this.
 
Asad Shafiq ..... if he breaks Gary Sober's record, it will prove that you don't need to bat up to be a star performer. Like Umar Akmal insists.
