What's new

England v Pakistan | 3rd ODI | Nottingham | August 30th, 2016 | England innings

Amir is going under 5 RPO in a match where the average is 8 RPO - take the hatred elsewhere, he's the best bowler in this team!

Upfront bowler not able to get wickets can take that 5 RPO home.

Wasim laughing that when i left we were still good team and now this. He is thanking his stars he was born in the peak time of Pakistan cricket.

Unfortunately the administrators think this sort of slogathon is what sells.

Flat pitches, powerful bats, two new balls, fielding restrictions and smaller boundaries have totally distorted the balance between bat and ball.

But take nothing away from England, this is a very explosive and skilled batting lineup. Pakistan don't have a single clean hitter of the ball of the same calibre.

I'm not taking anything away from this batting lineup. It's the most explosive lineup in the world and even OZ might get hammered by them but the ODI game has become less about skill and more about power and that's sad.

What's the difference between ODIs and T20's now apart from duration of the match?

8 or 9 of England's top 10 scores are in last couple of years. I guess, suddenly they have unleashed all of their all-time greats. Obviously, condition has nothing to do in it - it's the skill of modern batsmen.

:six I'm really getting frustrated with our team now and Azhar especially

Butler is a scary, scary ODI batsman. How i wish he was playing for India.

We would be unbeatable.

Wrong.

India doesn't lack such skilled players. Rather, it does not tolerate people batting like this.

There is a big difference. Our batsmen are so unbelievably good that they can compete with England and Australia while having a Pakistan type mind-set and attitude. Make no mistakhe e. Our cricket is as backward as Pakistan's cricket. The difference is having Kohli executing that plan vs Azhar Ali doing so.

But if you don't believe me forget that. Don't bother comparing Indian batsmen. In the earlier era Buttler himself didn't bat this way, and he appears strained and unfree when playing for MI because Indian think-tanks just don't tolerate or encourage free hitting.

This is the worst limited overs fielding side!!

UAE and Afghanistan field better in all seriousness!!

lol Morgan to break Buttlers record for the fastest 50 in odi's from england that buttler made in the very same match

Yes he should have done better than getting a couple in the entire series, but he has still been Pakistan's best bowler and will not be dropped just because a armchair critic on PP wants him to be.

England are probably the best ODI side at home right now. To prove they are the best overall they need to win in Bangladesh, the best Asian ODI side at home right now, in October. That is why that series is so important and has to go ahead.

This is a beast ODI side, probably the best from England. They never had a batting this deep before.

Pakistan's top order really needs to step up if they want to chase this one.

Get rid of Azhar mahnood as bowling coach!!! A pathetic bowler and mediocre coach

is the pitch this bad????

Its very flat. Even county teams have been racking up huge scores of 350/400+ at Trent Bridge this season in the RL ODI Cup.

Given the strength and skill of modern ODI batsmen (except Pakistan's) - the pitch should try and be a leveller otherwise ODIs are just elongated T20s.

We will see how good England are when they tour India. Same England team will look like a club side against India. When Kohli will thump them up and down.😆

Pakistan batted first in the first game on pretty similar pitch. they huffed and puffed to get 260. they would have done the same had they batted first here.

Any takers for a score....5 overs left. Reckon they will get 80 with Aamir and Wahab bowling.

This innings tells you the difference between us and England in LO no way are we chasing this score.

SOuth Africa beat India at home so England have a fair chance too. The real test will be in Bangladesh.

Here we go. Another Bangla bhai self-anointing his team "the best" in certain scenarios. It counts when someone else says that Babu moshai.

If we had another ODI Asia cup right now hosted in Bangland, India and SL would both wipe the floor with Bongles. Pak would be close. Don't fool yourself.

Not sure if we can score even 200 runs!!!!

"380 is the avrg score on this pitch ? I heard that..Alan please explain or confirm ?" In List A games this season, yes, Vian khan. Though England are now pushing it up with every run...
