Think they got their hundred partnership against the Aussies. They can do even better here.
 
India really are bloody awful. We can't let them win this series, surely?

Does the intelligence include the need to know that he is a sportsman, and his only real job is to keep fit in his free time?
 
Terrible captaincy at the moment. Rubbish field placings. With Raina and Yuvraj in the team, maybe india should have gone with four seamers

Is it just me...or the quantity of Indians in this thread has dramatically fallen?
 
Im actually serious, i think india's fielding is worse then ours. We cant catch that well but we can still ground field properly
 
Lol! Broad and Swann have counterattacked in brilliant fashion!

As entertaining as this is, would they be better off continuing to go for the big shots, or should they try and buckle down and accumulate runs now that they are both set? Anyone watching, how is the pitch behaving?

If the ball is still doing a bit then they might as well continue to go for it, if it's flattened out a bit they should try and bat out the rest of the day and really build up englands total- both of them are talented enough batsmen to do so!

What an innings from Broad, again proving that he is the game-changer in the side, despite the rubbish stats. Stunning!
 
When Wasim mentioned overly defensive fields in Sydney, for a moment I thought he was going to mention yousuf's field placings for hussey and siddle. Ah, nightmarish memories....
 
Dhoni seems to have lost it since the WOrldcup....

His form is awful and his captaincy has been terrible.... Easy singles every where...

Harbhajan should retire right away IMO :facepalm:
 
but I am actually that there is good test cricket going on..bowlers bowling well..batsmens failing and then tailenders saving the match. good stuff!!

come on mate, fair's fair. They've been terrible the past hour, but you can't say they're awful when your team is 200/8, seaming pitch or no. Wait a couple of hours, and say so on 300/8 :D.
 
Dhoni needs to slow down the game a bit...give time to regroup...

Swann might be tempted by them....

I'm not undermining the effort by England's tailenders in this explosive batting, but a good field placing and good fielding and both probably would have been out by now. It's been absolutely disgraceful by India.

Swann and Broad have ridden their luck a bit now, and now having got their eye in, should buckle down and stay at the crease. Both look very set at the crease now too.

There's a subtext to everything - you've got to look beyond numbers. They just seem a shambles, rolling around in the field and occasionally taking advantage of favourable conditions. Maybe not awful, but not the standard you expect from the top side anyway.
