7. Brendon McCullum (wk)
8. Kapil Dev (c)
9. Shane Warne

Stature wise Tendulkar had first right to captaincy but in a team meeting a teary eyed Tendulkar said he will never captain a team having his childhood hero and cricket idol Kapil Dev.

Kapil Dev hugged Sachin and gracefully accepted the responsibility.

Bhaijaan XI name world cup winning captain Kapil Dev as their captain.

I’m crying this is beautiful

freelance_cricketer. Good captaincy decision, Sachin was garbage and Dev was good. I would have gone McCullum though, he invented a new outlook on ODI cricket

Sachin was ok, the team he had was garbage.

Kapil Dev wasn't just good, he was a franchise. One of the best ever leaders.

Agreed on McCullum too.

Sorry yep understated Dev. Inspirational skipper. Probably recency bias with McCullum

Why is McCullum at 7? Shouldn't he be opening?

Strategically placed at #7, the position he started his career at and the position where he finished some of the greatest ever chases.

He could be used as a floater too.

It's up to Kapil how he wants to use him though.

I pick Sri Lanka's greatest ODI batsmen of all-time, Arvinda de Silva. The man of the World Cup final 1996 with the bat and with bowl also. A very useful off spin bowler as well. A true legend of the game.

And one of the best Bowling AR at #8.

The man with 56 wickets in World Cups.

One of the finest exponents of yorkers. The death-bowling KING. The only man to get 4 wickets in 4 balls.

The man with the crazy hair. And now a big belly.

Thunderbolt14, your two picks now.

Thunderstorm XI would like to invite one of the top 5 highest wicket taking spinners ever, as well as the second best economy rate in the entirety of the top 20 wicket taking spinners ever (best is Murali :afridi). And no less, this man is more than handy with the bat with 27 half centuries to his name. It’s a pleasure to say hello to Mr. Daniel Vettori.

In addition, we are very pleased to welcome one of the greatest finishers of all time, one of the best ODI batsmen period with a career best ICC rating of 910, and the person I will always trust most to hit for me a last ball six. Welcome, Mr. Miandad.
