Hypothetical ODI draft

Yeah, lacks batting depth and firepower. Went overboard with the bowlers

If that makes you feel better about yourself :salute why not wait for the draft to be completed or do you thrive off of putting down teams you know are better than yours?

Buddy your lead bowlers are Michael Holding and Shane Watson :)) good luck with that :))

There are still plenty of great ODI bowlers left. Can't say the same about the keeper unless you want Boucher to bat at #6 with Hadlee and Vettori to follow. So as I said, pretty weak lower order with serious lack of firepower :yuvi

Pray you don't have to play a world cup in Australia with two specialist finger spinners in your playing XI :moyo

The Hakeems pick Dale Steyn - one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time.

Dale-Steyn-3.jpg

I pick Jofra Archer

Guy has won his team a world cup. No more credentials required

1- Rohit Sharma
2-
3- Virat Kohli
4- Michael Clarke
5- Jos Buttler
6- Shane Watson
7- Lance Klusener
8- Jofra Archer
9-
10-
11- Michael Holding

Thank God no one stole my pick. :salute

I pick the man with a top ODI rating of 931. Just four behind Sir Viv and the second-highest of all time. One of the finest ODI batsmen of his era. Striking at almost 85 in the 70s and 80s, what a legend. A man who played ODI cricket at a level far ahead of his time.

Welcoming the Asian Bradman, Zaheer Abbas, to bat at number 3!

Sorry buddy but not going to work. I have Vettori who averages 25 in Australia in wins and his only job in my playing XI is containment for which he is probably the best of all time besides Murali. For wicket taking purposes, Hadlee, McGrath, and Bond will have more fun between the three of them with a sixth bowling option in Ganguly :afridi

no no no

Hmm, I think one of the names Thunderbolt named in his deleted post might've been a better pick :yk

Still early days for Archer.

I needed a bowler who is good at death and doesn't choke like Steyn did in WC 2015 :steyn
There are still many quality new ball bowlers left though

Anyways, Archer has already proved his worth on the biggest stage so as I said no more credentials required :usman

The poor guy could barely restrict himself from bowling a wide in the super over :)) if the rules had been written differently England might not have fluked their way to a win after a double tie and Archer would have been grilled for that wide.

He’s good for today’s era but what are your standards. “Good at the death”. He conceded 15 runs!

Vettori averages 41 in Australia and even Murali averages 30+ in Australia with much higher economy than their career economy :vk

Fantastic pick! Love the way your XI is shaping up Abdullah bhai

Let me show you the way in picking old XI's. You must pick Sunil Gavaskar for those solid 36* carrying the bat

Apun ke punter log xi
01) Quinton de Kock(wk)
02)
03)
04) Ross Taylor
05)
06) Michael Bevan
07) Chris Cairns

In comparison to your strike bowler Watson who averages 33 and Jofra who has never played outside England? Nice :yk

Not at all, Hutton was taken when I picked Gooch buddy.

No I'm sure you picked Gooch ahead of Hutton. My pick was after you and I was really surprised

Pat Cummins, Gooch, Hutton, Headley was the draft sequence for 5th round

Jofra was the most economical pacer on English phatta's. Would definitely wreak havoc on pace friendly pitches :sendoff

don’t get me wrong I like him, but he’s barely played and even in the small sample size he’s managed to make these guys look good:

Archer to Hasan Ali, SIX runs
And the final ball of the over ruins what's been a great one for England. Muscled over long-off and absolutely sails over the boundary. It's a short ground, but hard to explain how well that was struck. It was bludgeoned!

Archer to Sarfaraz Ahmed, 4 runs
Oh, dear, what's happening to England?!! They're in a bit of disarray in the field. Sarfaraz sliced the ball to point, who threw it at the stumps without a man backing up in the same post code. It goes all the way to the boundary!

Archer to Sarfaraz Ahmed, FOUR runs
Smart thinking from Sarfaraz. Picked up what the bowler was trying to do, and only had to clear mid-off

Archer to Asif Ali, SIX runs
That one was exceptionally slow. Asif had time for a cuppa before he got ready to loft it over cover all the way for six.

Archer to Mohammad Hafeez, FOUR runs
Slow and straight, but this is masterful from Hafeez. Opens the face of the blade to loft it over a packed offside infield. Once that was cleared, it was always going for four

Rather than getting at each other can we just appreciate the great pick that is Hayden 1st round. Sutcliffe went round 10 I think...

I can not pick my all time XI without having any Indian player in my team. So, my next pick is the destructive opening batsmen, Virender Sehwag.

In a team with a middle order that has talent, flair and grit, I need to have someone who brings fear to the opposition with first bowl, someone that can give me a start of 70 runs in 8 overs and no one does it better than our Viru.

U can't cherry pick that hard, especially when one is an overthrow:inti

So what?

As if Macgrath never had a bad match? Still remember Razzaq hitting him for 5 consecutive fours and Moeen sweeping him for sixes

Would be a great pick for Thunderbolt14 tbh since he thinks all these teams are gonna compete on pitches where par score would be 180-200 :vk2

Why you say that he has 4 ATG bowlers. You have one. Bowlers win matches. Also, who are you going to pick as your specialist spinner, Paul Adams?

I had all the oldies in my team before I picked Sehwag, lol. But de Silva and Lloyd were very tempting names as they played ATG knocks in World Cup final.

Srilanka and England won world cups without any ATG bowler (Murali was a nobody in 1996). So did Australia in 1987. Their batting won them those world cups
