To be fair he's formed a pace quartet :-

Imran
Waqar
Holding
Johnson

Pace yaaaar :akhtar

Spinners who?

i feel that in a match between ATG XI's spinners would be necessary as it is unlikely one team could blow through another

Kaddy is killing it

Marshall
Mcgrath
Chappel
Graeme Pollock

:vk1 :vk1

Interesting that Kumble is the 3rd spinner picked, I would have 6 other spinners ahead of him

Yep Kaddy doing well. Chappell the steal of the draft so far. Will he have a good keeper though...

It's a very good pick bro.

Apart from being a good strike bowler and particularly deadly in SC Kumble was amazing at holding one end tight the entire day if test cricket. Incredible fitness. He was a boon for us

You are doing quite well maddgenius. Will you play Flower as your keeper or as a specialist bat?

Definitely a great bowler, but I feel he lacked penetration in SENA. There have been alot of good spinners though, and apart from Warne and Murali alot of them are very similar so understand your reasoning

Keeper. Wouldn't make sense to pick Flower ahead of so many ATG middle order bats if he plays as a batsman

Underrating Flower's batting ability for me maddgenius. Greatest batsmen of all keepers along with Sanga and ******. Not a great gloveman, especially compared to Gilly and to an extent Sanga but a great, great batsmen and a top tier ATG. Averages over 115 vs India in India. Could be considered, along with Sehwag, the greatest player of Spin since Bradman

To be fair there are still so many amazing batsmen and even bowlers left. Across from pretty much all countries :))

+1 bro

Amazing player of spin

Who knows better about Andy than us Indians. He tormented us in all formats everywhere.

Apart from all the accolades you mentioned above, can safely call him the greatest ever player of reverse sweeps. Nobody played them with more ease and finesse.

yep freelance_cricketer. Made the reverse sweep more than just a joke limited overs shot.

This is getting exciting. Would love it if @world_cup_captain could make his pick

No doubt about Andy being a great test batsman but it's all relative when it comes to drafts. I'd have definitely picked Graeme Pollock/George Headley/Miandad ahead of Flower if he was to play as a batsman in my team.

ok I understand that.

For me Flower > Miandad, and while I would prefer Headley, Pollock at 3/4 due to their strength vs pace, I would prefer Flower at 5/6 due to how well he played spin

Maybe I overrated Flower a bit though

Come on guys.

Let's pick the pace and make two more.picks by tonight

Can I request that people send their picks in to the mods two or three turns in advance so we can speed up the process? This was we can get through this quicker. Maybe send your top two picks in to them.

I feel that this wouldn't be the best for the draft, as people like to base picks off what other people have picked. Drafts usually take a while, so we can wait for me.

Still, sometimes people have a pick they definitely want. I think 70% of drafts so far have been people’s first choice or their second choice based on if their first choice was picked. And the 30% where it’s reactionary, it’s more reactionary to the draft as a whole than the immediate next 2-3 picks before your turn.

Either ways, if you have your pick in mind, message the mods. If not, that’s fine

haha yep. Mitchell Johnson?? About 8 remaining Aus fast bowlers are better

Umm apart from Glenn McGrath and Dennis Lillee, no Aussie bowler is as deadly as Johnson in his prime.

Mtchell Johnson??

giphy.gif
Took 100+ wickets at 23 in his last 3 years in Tests.

Also with the bat he averages 22 with 11 fifties and 1 hundred.

Haha KW is the fifth bowler and lone spinner :kp
Yep with Johnson being able to bowl short spells he could be very devastating

Yea and I needed a left-armer too. My pace attack is full of variety and can perform well on all surfaces.
:mj

I pick this team. Beat this then talk.

Sunil Gavaskar
Barry Richards
Viv Richards
Sachin Tendulkar
Brian Lara
Garfield Sobers
Adam Gilchrist (wkt)
Imran Khan

Well basically all of those players were picked r1, so you only get one of them. Which one do you want :(

I think your selections are also exceptionally good, having the players likes of warne, Lillee and Hadlee is not a joke.

therealAB Kindly message your next pick to Abdullah before you go offline

You're up next freelance_cricketer.

Take a bow SIR IAN BOTHAM

At his peak, no cricketer could put together a greater all round performance than him.

An ambassador of the game.

I would like to pick the Greatest of All Time spinner Bishan Singh Bedi.

Wonderful.

If ahmadharis1 is online we can have next 4-5 picks very quickly boyzz

Kapil and Botham together

Dayumm

Cheers mate.

I like the fact that Bhaijaan XI could be 20/6 in first session on a bizzare day and still launch a massive counter attack mission through Dev-Botham!

That's a great pick but i hope you have already taken into account you literally have four #11s in your XI now.

Not an issue when your top 7 are GOAT batsman. Batting depth is there. In a GOAT test match you will very often find teams declaring more than getting all out. What is most important is having a bowling attack that can challenge the best batsman of all time (and that’s a difficult task). Most of the current attacks in other teams will have trouble getting through even 5 GOAT batsmen.

Also, Ambrose, Roberts can bat. Steyn was involved with a heist against Australia in 2008 I believe. They’re not #11s.

Steyn and Robby both are solid no.9, Amby 10th and Bedi used to bat at 10 for India but in your team, he can be no.11. Solid attack IMO.

Don't give hints. Let's team up to pick an unpicked-xi after conclusion of draft. I have this in mind since beginning of this draft. And honestly there needs to be an unpicked-xi.
Let's see how many of Managers will want to trade with us.

We’re only halfway through the draft, I think they’ll be picked by the end of it
