India beat West Indies by 237 runs in the 3rd Test

Superb field placing and tight bowling by both spinners.

This is what was missing the last test.

If they keep up, something will give.

Perfect blend of attack and defense field right now. Nothing being overdone.

Shame about the dead atmosphere in the ground as West Indies are not giving in easily.

If the westindies sort things out they can build a better side than India in a few months .
Build the side around good young fast bowlers.

Parosis making sure to dangle the carrot of no 1 ranking in front of us..

Getting in a short leg and letting Yadav(why wasnt he selected) or now Ishant go for rib cage bouncers on this pitch would have gt windies 100 for 3 or 4 by now

Do you think India will win this easily as everyone expects? Seeing the fight shown by these two I guess Windies could survive till end of tomorrow and be like 50 odd runs behind and all out..India will ahve to bat all day on day 4 to get lead in to 300-350 zone and then one day to have a go at Windies..
Could be another hard fought draw by windies or if jadeja gets going an easy win for India

Indian team depending too much on Ashwin in tests. The guy is virtually carrying the team on his shoulders, just the same way Kohli is doing it in ODIs and T20s.

India is very lucky to such gem of a players.

Good fightback by the Windies. If they can score above 400, India will be under the cosh and will be under pressure to save the match.

Absolutely terrible captaincy by Kohli. What a fake aggressive captain :yk Pick your mates in the playing XI and some poor bowling changes as well.

Not looking good for India. Too many changes which were not at all required.

Vijay and Pujara totally disturbed
Kohli and Rahane batting a position above where they should bat
Jadeja for Mishra
Bhuvi for Umesh

You would feel as if India were 1-0 down in the series.

None of this was needed. Dhawan should have gone out for Vijay , that was the only change needed.

Seems like Kohli is going to give everyone in the squad a go. Which means that we have the exciting prospect of seeing Lord Binny run in to bowl his thunderbolts in the next test.

Oh teri, one wicket down and that too by a run out.

Pitch isn't helping bowlers?? Or some miracle happened with WI batsmen.

No. India won't win easily.

However in this test, I can see much better plans to stifle WI (not too much attack or defense) and I won't be surprised if they crumble trying to hit out. These 2 are grafters so they are playing the waiting game well. Even then Brathwaite skied too balls due to impatience and was lucky.

After the improbable draw last game, WI is high on confidence and if they score 250-300 here, it would be a draw mostly.

A better team would look only bat once and then grind India into the ground, but WI always seems to be teetering on the edge of self implosion that it is unwise to place any optimistic expectations on them.

How can any team grind India to the ground?

This is WI....not Eng or Aus where 4 rpo can be scored.

If a better team bats for 500...its an easy draw.

Jadeja for Mishra was needed.

Mishra has been woeful with his line and length last game.

Jadeja will give us the much needed control.

Kohli's bowling changes were crap.

Though his field setting for spinners was good.

Pacers didn't bowl with enough venom. Shami was good at times...Ishant was good in parts...Bhuvi wasn't that much of a threat.

Sad situation.

They bounced out our tail and we couldn't do anything.

Done through batting once and piling on a large total so that the other team succumbs to score board pressure.

Pitch and scoring rate matters.

Large scores were piled up back in 70s and 80s in a 5 match series. Yet only 1-2 matches had results.

Talking specifically about the WI team not having the quality to dominate.

I was referring to any team.

The Indian team with aggressive bats couldn't score fast too.

These are horrible pitches (not patta but hard to score) with sahara desert of an outfield.

Think Aus did well last year.

Pakistan should also win comfortably if they tour, as well as NZ.

To be honest, unless some bowlers click, I have a bad feeling about this test match and series.

Need to be patient and just not give away any runs and choke those Windies out.

Barely scored fast compared to their usual standards.

Played in 2 innings only.

Scored at 3.14 at Sabina where WI scored at 3.6.....which means pitch was decent.

Next test...Aus scored at 2.97.......far cry from their usual standards...India scored at 2.7 odd this innings

---

Depends on the pitch

And I wouldn't be too sure of Pakistan steam rolling WI. If you watch the game, they are preparing flattish bounce tracks and have 3-4 very decent pacers with Roston Chase as 5th bowler.

Bounce is Pakistan's kryponite.

Will win the series but with a serious huff and puff.

WI bowling is actually getting better and better.

Pak don't do whitewashes except a couple of times against Eng and Aus.

The rain coming to Indias rescue again .
Even in the last match westindies were going to build a match winning lead if it was a timesless test .
Rain ruining westindian plans.

True.. only if tests could be timeless!

Thank you rain , thank you India and thank you west indies but we don't take favors. We are postponing our rise to number 1 for an unforeseeable future.

Looks like this series is gonna meander to a pointless 1-0 win.

As long as India doesn't screw up in the next test.

Its pretty annoying to play tests in this climate.

Ideally should have been 2-0 before rain came, pitch lost its life by day 5 and our bowlers' lullooness showed in 2nd test.

Hate the WI tour for the low quality ambience (pitch, outfield, weather) we are subjected to.

Can't wait for India to fly back home.

Garbage tour.

According to Sanjay Bangar, it was strike rate which led to Dhawan's inclusion over Vijay

“The team management felt that Shikhar had also done enough to keep his place in the team having scored a good 87 and then giving us the start in the first innings and negotiating the new ball in a partnership of 90 runs (with Pujara),” Bangar reasoned.

Also implied in Bangar’s reply was Dhawan’s supposed ability to score runs faster than Vijay, a fixation of Virat Kohli and the same reason he said when roping in Rohit Sharma. Dhawan strike rate of 60.43 is evidently better than Vijay’s (46.88).

Our management has lost it completely.

Shocking umpiring. That's two big decisions - Bravo given out and Dowrich given out - wrongly given in favor to the Indians.

One of the batsmen (Chase I think) got wrapped on the pads off a ball from Ashwin but wasn't given (replays showed it hitting the stumps). I see only the wrong decision brought up but never this one..

Ashwin looks like getting a wicket every ball.....

hopefully we don't squander this spell and screw up.

I think we will win this series 1-O which is a very disappointing performance. And some people were finding it boring and not competitive. See how hard it is to win tests away from home.

Weather played spoilsport. Last test bowling performance was not good.

That was an amazing spell by Ashwin.

Too bad he didn't get more wickets.

Wonderful battle between Marlon and him.

Bhuvi is really good.

Just what we needed.

Gives so much balance to our side if he clicks.

Hope he does well moving on.

Bhuvi..Jaddu kind of economy bowlers complement Shami Ashwin type of aggressive bowlers.

Both are very similar as players. Batting averages in the early 20s. Good tight bowlers who are godlike given certain conditions.

Who else it will be other than the butter fingers rahul?

Pathetic catching abilities of this dude, continues!

Plus that was a very poor sportsmanship from rahul to claim that as a clean catch.

Reg Bravo new ICC rules is that if its a line call and umpire is not sure, the benefit goes to BOWLERS not batsmen.

So not a howler reg Bravo.

Poor Bhuvi:sree

Fielders dropping dollies off his bowling.

The Amir conparisons coming back to bite him.:amir

Ishant should have said to Rohit "Arrey bhai, you should have let me catch it if you were feeling nervous"..

Feeling gutted for Bhuvi... He and Shami are two gems for India. Need to take care of them!
