India v England | India win 4th Test against England by an innings and 36 runs in Mumbai

On par with KP's masterclass 4 years ago.

It was very good mate, but definitely not as good as KP's famous knock which is arguably the best Test innings of this century so far.

As for this match. Looking like 3-0 to India. It's been a reasonably competitive series throughout, certainly closer than some recent tours of India by other teams - but India keep winning the "big moments" and taking games away from England. Credit to India, they deserve to be in this dominant overall position.

Unless the Indians can about 100 runs more by lunch, it will not be easy to win this match !!!!

How can I watch Sky's cricket analysis?

I can't watch the garbage Star analysis filled with cliches.

It is on youtube. Search ind vs eng and filter results by upload date as today. Some decent analysis there.

Esp "The Verdict". Rob Key just rocks as a pundit. Today's episode is all about "King Kohli".

Great knock by Kohli..Brilliant batting..

Didn't watched the match but saw highlights. He really changed the complexion of the game here.

Decent start to the morning 3 boundaries already and a not so great pull by Kohli

:fifty for Jayant well done important time for it as well,Kohli looks impressed

Good 50. Every run he scored in this series was gold. I am impressed by Jayant's batting. Not with his bowling yet.

Really feel sorry for the Englishmen ..... they are getting their clocks cleaned this morning !!! Oh well.

Jayant Yadav is turning into a good batting AR.
His test scores - 35 , 27* , 55 , 55*
Current average - 86+

Anderson and Woakes need to bowl together here. Bhai and Bhai are not good enough to pick wickets on this surface.

Shastri, Botham and Siva in the commentary. Does it get any worse than this?

Junaids was spot on again with his analysis. The 1st test was the only chance for India to win and thus whitewash England as he knew India would be all over England in the next 4 tests. What a genius!

Bring in Stokes already atleast he will try and damn Ravi needs to really stop mocking.

No demons in the pitch or is it the batting by these two which makes it look so easy? And people predicted it to be a square turner from Day 1.

Will be interesting to see how Indian spinners fair in 2nd innings of England.

I wish King Kohli goes berserk after his 200..Gets the first triple of his career.:D. Too much to ask i guess!

Hope England can make Vijay bat again :)
Junaids - boss, looks like since Virat didn't accept his possible only chance of winning a Test against England at Rajkot; India somehow has managed to win the next 2 Tests & likely to bat once in the 3rd one & still one more to go.

This is the best late order batting line up ever in Indian Team across all formats!
And will be one of the all time best if they replicate the same overseas (Jayant can play even in place of a batsman as we anyhow don't have a settled top order and we can have 6 bowlers, though its too optimistic!)

Happy for Kohli, hope he gets 200 but that he doesn't break Intikhab Alam and Asif Iqbal's 8th wicket stand record :amla

Watching the match on and off so can't really make a judgement. ^^^ btw, what's Jayant Yadav's domestic record anyone?

Every credit to Virat, Yadav & Vijay (& discredit to Pujara - he had the chance to get a triple here); but this is what happens when you pick spinners on their batting merit. I understand, England is a bit handicapped for missing a cricketer like Ansari, more talented than Jadeja; but still ........

Hope PAK doesn't get the inspiration (& idea) to play Nawaz over Yasir ........ or MoHa, for his off-spin ....

Well said!

I deserve every word, but I'm sure you recognised that I was trying to wind people up.

TBH, I still think that as soon as we omitted Pietersen and Panesar our goose was cooked. I'm impressed by how well India are cooking it though! Very impressed.

FC average under 30 in Ranji - but that's not a big factor. Born in Delhi & plays for Haryana - he played better quality spinners in club cricket.

Stokes here showing fight, remarkable player! Kohli should had smacked that stop looking for glory, missing full tosses this test.

So happy that Kohli has got hold of Test Cricket! Now nothing can stop him (It is important to make the most of these "home test matches", where just batting skills matter and the runs will flow without much pressure of asking rate or anything!)

Parthiv gets out.

305/5.

This is what I was worried about.

Easy wickets and momentum shifting.

Agreed.. But If we get a 100 runs lead and they make 250... Then do you think we will get 150 in 4th innings and perhaps in two sessions left?

This happened like 1545678th time in the last few years. India would be 230/2 or at worse 3 most of the times, only to struggle to reach 400 in the end.

Even a 50 run lead looks difficult now. That could still be critical here.

Our batting always goes by a set template. Good partnership at the top of the order followed by an inevitable middle order collapse followed by a decent lower order resistance. This time I don't think the lower order can do much here.

Keep the faith guys. This is a great great batting lineup, maybe the best tail in history. The #9 batsman currently has an average of 80+ :)

Hmm, good find for India and playing a really good hand right now. Hopefully he can get his 100 too.

Haha. Ouch.

Monty would have been super flop this time after 3 years out of game - in fact before ENG, he has to make a comeback for his County side first. KP is 36+ now, still probably is one of the better spin players in ENG, but matching KP of Mumbai 2012 is unthinkable.

Played half his matches on green seaming wicket at Lahli IIRC.

200 for the man,3rd of this year, good to see him trying for big ones now.

Just imagine if the top order is settled (Rahul getting hold of opening spot, Pujara aims high sorts out overseas, Rahane sorts out spin and one more solid bat in the middle order!) That will be monstrous, and with the seamers (led by Shami) coming out of robotic test bowling & proving effective we have real chance overseas (especially with weakened teams around)

I am not talking about FC cricket - I am talking about Club cricket. Like in Mumbai, Shivaji Park, Dadar Union, Bombay Gymkhana, Azad Maidan Cricket Club .................

How much Virat needs to score in last Test to beat the record, apparently Johnny had a shot at, before coming to Asia?

Very good batting line up indeed, but trust me, on similar condition BD & SRL has far better attack than this lot ....... we almost thought the 2nd coming of Ian Botham just about 4 months back at Lord's ....

And, once his luck runs out with full tosses & long hops, Adil Rashid will average like Bradman with Viv's SR against Asian teams - unfortunately with ball.........
