Which is wrong, Fawad and Maqsood need all the time they can get in the middle. Their spots are fixed so why change them??Its not like anyone is going to play ahead of him, by that logic.

Hafeez, Junaid, Ajmal, Sharjeel are not there from the last tour. Why not try new players in these positions??

And yup I know about the U.A.E series but they are not the quality that Pak will be facing in Aus.

With umar, sohaib, alam and misbah we have an excellent middle order and agianst the best ODi team in the world we are actually playing a weaker batting unit. it is mind boggling. with our bad track record against aus and the fact we need more and more confidence, playing this team is mind boggling for me.

If you ask me, I'd prefer Maqsood but there are logical reasons behind playing Shafiq as well.

What logical reasons?? The guy averages below 10 in the last ten games.

As for Maqsood and spin:

He was smashing Tahir all over the place when we were falling like pack of card in-front of him.
Played a gem of a knock of 89* against Herath and co three games ago.
Another brilliant 45 odd against Ashwin and Jadeja chasing in the Asia cup.
