Another thrilling day of Test match cricket unfolded. Despite the pitch being reused, effectively making it a day 8 surface, it has more than compensated for the slow pace of the first game. This Test has been captivating from the very first day, and today was no different.

England, resuming at 239/6, managed to reach 291 in their first innings, giving Pakistan a handy 75-run lead. Sajid Khan was the standout performer, claiming a brilliant seven-wicket haul. The last-wicket pair for England added 29 crucial runs, with all 10 wickets falling to the spinners.

In response, Pakistan faced early trouble, losing three quick wickets to Bashir as England fought back. However, valuable contributions from Ghulam, Shakeel, and Rizwan steadied the innings. Even so, England kept chipping away at the wickets, using a combination of reverse-swing and spin to maintain the pressure.

Teams:

Pakistan
(Playing XI): Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood(c), Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan(w), Agha Salman, Aamer Jamal, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Zahid Mahmood

England (Playing XI): Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes(c), Jamie Smith(w), Matthew Potts, Brydon Carse, Jack Leach, Shoaib Bashir

Should be a total that's defendable but who can trust Pakistani bowling these days. If they are to win one of Sajid or Nauman will need to be great.

Root is the main man.

He is not only at the peak of his powers but also a terrific player of spin. More than capable of scoring a century on this type of wicket.

PCT can defend this even if Root scores. No need to stop Root.

Will Stokes step up for once outside England?
