For test yes , they did a good job, openes that can play 20 overs and make 60 runs consistently that is a great opening partnership

This is a test match. The rate at which runs are scored doesn't matter at the moment, and the opening stand was 60, which is two third of the runs we have right now
I guess you are satisfied. I am not.

It was a fluke partnership. In 8 out of 10 times I would expect both of them to go before 50 is up.

I do agree with you to some extent. But Imran Farhat needs to be out of team forever. There are zillions of players much better than iDamaad. As I said they will score their average once in a while and get out. Today was their average day:) that's all

True, Farhat is not the future of the Pakistani top order. I'd still persist with Butt and either keep him in the team or on the sidelines, simply because I don't see anyone more capable of handling the new ball

As I said they score their average once in a blue moon. Today was their average day. I totally agree with you

Fluke or not, give credit when credit is due.
What credit scorinf 29 and 30? Has our expectation gone down so low.? Sad, to even think that way. When you get in the team on safaarish you need to perform heck of a lot better than their score. Aamir could have done that as an opener

I can't sorry. After they have done all the hard work and wasted a ton of deliveries and time, one of them must have gone on to hit a ton or better. Now even after that stand we are back to square one reeling at 100 odd for 3.

It reminded me of Yousef's innings in ODI, start out very slow and accelerate later in the inning. if he scores big we are fine if not all those over get wasted

This pitch has no demons. Good bounce. We need at least 300 to give ourselves a fighting chance of winning.

yea this is a test match, i know that..but that doesn't mean u play that long for only 30 runs and then play a stupid shot just to get out, which puts pressure on the other players...if they stay that long out there, then they should play sensibly and score more then just 29/30 runs...(for ex: Umer Akmal in 1st test..)

I can't believe gusy are saying it was ok, they played well. How pathetic? 32 and 29 is not a good inning in a test match, no matter how you look at it

Yes 29/30 are useless scores when you have got the advantage and the pitch is good. One of them needed to get a hundred. Butt is capable of doing that but farhat is not.

I am praying farhat will not start against aus.....

Farhat will be found out 99/100 times by the Aussies. I am hoping his Parchi can get him only as far as NZ, but not Australia.

Umar AKmal getting bak into form...how r his shots? are they as good as they were when he was batting at number 5?

Umar has recovered now. Good on the little guy! And double shame on the seniors who couldn't muster courage to go in his place.

Wow Misbah who looked out of touch in ODIs is looking in decent share.

The light seems fine. What the umpirer were consulting about?

Omar already on 43. Good job kid. Hew sure is a good find, even at # 3. Survived some anxious moment

Come on Umar another hundred cheetah. Misbah and co just need to stay in and let the maestro express himself.

why jr trying to throw his wicket ????????????????

Fellow PP'ers have told me that he is a kind of a dasher, so this is normal for him.

Yes he does look in good touch.

Poor batting by Umer., he never got behind the ball and was too slashy. Not comfortable at all.

Massive massive massive blow. Now the Kathak Maharaj :malik will need to bat really well.

UA batted very well considering the position he was sent in....Very well done...I hope he continue to bat this way and he will surely be able to replace YK at 3rd position in tests down the road. I would still send him at 5 for atleast a year then move him up to 3.

Now see how Malik will get behind the ball.

Malik will be gone soon but Umer could have made another 100 if he was not in such a rush today. Pak won't pass 250 now.

Need a partnership here or we risk throwing away the start provided by our openers. Well batted chota Akmal, but he fell at the wrong time.

Sometime Misbah while playing his defensive shot appeares as if his feet are stuck in the mud.

no pattern it is gonna be more lika
129, 75, 46, 150 and on and on :)

I hope so...but you never know with the management, they will probably open with him in the next inning... :inti

what start? lol. you call that a start in test cricket?

So let me guess. That will be Jr fault if we don't go past 250?

now that's the one we sure need to be worried about

Didn't realize Pak hasn't won a test in over 3 years! Longest winless streak since the 60's. Wow! Can see why, we have no real batsmen.

need to scrape through around 300, then our bowlers should have a field day on this track inshallah

I think the return of Misbah will have a good effect on Malik. And he will score some runs here.
