Staying power - no Pak batsman has it
True, except Yousuf and Younis, no one does. However, don't you think that's because of the general mindset? Even on the media, even on his forum, 'experts' and fans who, it seems, have little appreciation or patience for Test cricket, lambast these players when they try to grit it out, and praise every slog to high heaven. Playing patiently or sensibly is called 'tuk tuk' cricket whilst hitting out in suicidal fashion seems to be positively encouraged.

No wonder Imran Nazir, Shahzaib Hasan and Afridi are considered on par with Bradman in the eyes of a lot posters...

Well played Faisal Iqbal. Superb delivery to get him out.

Really impressed me with his fight and determination.

There was/is no way we will get to that total. But I'm just pleased our batsmen showed some fight out there and played positively.

Can't blame bhutto for that. Hauritz wasn't doing anything with the ball suddenly it hits a crack and bingo.

32 overs................ 3 wickets.
All of us should be able to see where this is going. Unless Moyo/Umar hold it till lunch tomorrow, this game is over.

He always has the fight but the skill is missing at times. Today, I would have wanted him to get a hundred with such a good basis

Staying Power - all in the mind.

Akmal hits a four. Bashira (Aussies) in trouble.
Absolutely! Now, all he needs is to hit 75 more of those, and Bashira would be crying all the way to his pind.....

Thats the partnership for me..And I am pretty hopeful :moyo and :umarakmal will deliver the goods..

only 297 more required.... inshahALLAH kami will hit a match winning 100 again...

Yousuf is also playing his shots for a change...IMO he played just too defensive in NZ and also in the first innings here...he is a free flowing batsman and not playing his shots does not suit him...I guess captaincy has affected him...

Alright. Here's how I plan it
MoYo - Atleast 150
U. Akmal - Atleast 80
Misbah - Atleast 70
K. Akmal - Atleast 60
Aamer - Atleast 15 :p

50 runs today without the loss of a wicket, then it'd be time to contemplate a win.

Agree. Just need to fight all the way surviving 5 sessions is near impossible.

This is Pakistan's match, inshaAllah. The Aussie attack is a lousy one. Some cracks are there but I think it will be okay.

MIG bhai, I don't think you could blame him today.

The ball hit the foot mark and suddenly span, after not doing much in the hundred odd deliveries Hauritz bowled.

Sums up Iqbal's career.

Makes a start, gets settled in and gets out.

I have been impressed with him but he has to learn to get on with making a big score. Hopefully he retains his spot.

Same attack got us out for 258 yesterday ---- and we are on route to similar score!

cant blame faisal it hit a rough edge he hardly got to spin anything before that

Isn't that why batting is considered difficult in the 4th innings? Faisal should have known that there are rough patches outside his off stump and that he had to be careful about anything pitching outside. Horizontal bat shots have to be played very carefully at this stage of the game especially if the ball is not really pitched short. The bowler knows that there are rough patches there and he is trying to pitch a few there to get them to turn. The batsman should have known that as well. Yusuf just got one there and even though the ball didn't turn much, he stepped back and watchfully left it. You just have to cut some shots out depending on the situation.

If he had offered a straight bat shot with bat and pad together, that one would have hit the pads and most probably would have been given not out since it was turning so big.

I think we need to avoid another dismissal till we get to 200 mark.
Moyo/Umar need to pull a good partnership and play out till lunch tomorrow.

It's a reasonable plan. Just interchange Moyo with Akmal and Misbah with Aamer.

I think we just need to stay out there..... the runs will come and the required runrate ain't high either, less than 3.00

Sad thing is that today two out of top three had a decent outing by their standard but still all they could muster was 90 runs between them. They make 40% of our batting and achieved 20% of the required target on a relatively good day..

Quoting the legendary Lennox Lewis, "lightening doesn't strike twice."

That too.

as long as we put up a fight and make the Aussies sweat!

Lol! Bollinger needs to chill.
I love the way Yousuf plays he knows what to do when bowlers try to get to him

why is Yousaf playing away from his body? only a few more overs to go now man! 11 overs remaining!

Bollinger is being retarded. MoYo is better than that. We've all seen where they try pissing off the batsmen. They succeed in that, but not in trying to stop him from whacking a boundary.

Why these AUssies are not banned ?...............few days back they banned Benn Now what?

Akmal should remind Bollinger he took him to the cleaners in the A matches earlier this year.

Damn right. and faisal shouldnt be out, he was looking good but anyway now we cant afford to loose anymore wicket on day 4. we need to get close to 200 on day 4 so tomorow we could be able to set the plan. need big partnership from these 2. inshallah we can win this one.
