England would be targeting somewhere around 200 but that doenst mean it would be enough considering the form Kohli is in but, if they some how catch the ball from Kohli’s bat they might still have a chance

The short sighted selectors and captain never really gave Pant a chance when they should have, and now they are scared of exposing him in English conditions for this series.

I never get this argument.

If you believe in a talent, then play him. If he fails in tough conditions, give him a chance at home. You're selecting, not the public
 
Dhawan, Kartik and Pujara should announce their retirement after this test.

Haven't you heard?

We ceased manufacturing wicket-keeper batsmen in 2004. The ones going around are from the last batch ever produced. Hence Karthik and Patel are always reverted to, and Dhoni is persisted with in LoIs.

Don't worry, they all wear ̶a̶r̶e̶ Pants on the field.

Idiot dhawan dropped 4 - 5 catches already and more idiot captain kohli who still keeps him in slips (no wonder why they react like they did miracle after taking one catch & dropped 4 - 5)

Exactly, and it's not a favour to anyone.

Look at Sarfraz. Came in for Adnan in a tough tour just to make Adnan look good and he did enough that Adnan could never get in again. If you're talented, you'll show it
 
Dinesh Karthik is a overgrown kid! Got excited by the chance he got to play in the team and hence is giving chances for the opposition batsmen to play!

Let's not blame selectors for selecting Karthik. Kohli/Shastri and our idiot media has been singing praises of DK ever since he won a t20 against mighty Bdesh. Articles after articles about his glorious comeback, his buddy coach Abhishek nayyar being interviewed about his transformation. Only good thing that has happened is that with this performance, his ODI career might also be over.

The lead is 144. Even if we were to take all 3 wickets right now, we'll be chasing 145 to win.

And have you had a look at our batting line-up? If we ever make it to 145, it'll be 145/6, with Kohli trying to salvage something with Ashwin at the other end.

Morons continue their pathetic slip catching continue. Advantage England now. Bit of average captaincy, field placement, careless fielding, bowling changes has brought England right back int he game. They didn't go for the kill.
 
This is actually becoming a trend for India. Get into a winning position, drop dollies, give opposition extra 50 runs and then collapse in the 4th inning. I won't even call it bad luck now, this is nothing but lack of skills.
 
English tail can easily wag against this Indian bowling attack , just need to concentrate.

Why not bowl to tailenders like you bowl to the top order? Bowling it wider and letting them flash is a mistake. Bowl a good line, make them play, but not wide so they can hit hard.

Curran is proving to be such a revelation here. I hope he gets a smashing 50 and takes England past 200. Rashid too could bat India out of the game...

Risabh for DK is fine i guess considering Risabh has been in England longer and is a better batter. I have no clue on how good or bad his wicketkeeping skills are.
Dhawan will always be miss hit player but he has big scores and it will be unfair to Shaw to make him debut in high profile series and expect him to perform immediately.
But on other thoughts baptism by fire can show if he belongs to big league or not.

Pant should be played even if he scores 8 ducks
 
That is why you never count out a long batting line up like England, that being said I still expect India to win.

Yeah no matter what wk scores they must take all catches atleast 90%. Scoring runs will be seen later. Pant is atleast pure keeper and can improve even if he drops few now.

I like tests in England, very rarely you would get a drawn match if rain doesn't play spoil sports.
 
Lol, I've rooted against India all test, but even I'm angry at Kartik and Dhawan for those drops :)))

You barely get drawn tests anywhere these days.

Teams are too soft to last 5/5 days.
 
We CANNOT afford another 30 run partnership apiece for the last 2 wickets.
 
This Curran is the sort of player Pandya should aspire to be.
 
Curran is a great find for England but Dom Bess should not have been discarded.

He was a better batsman.

The pitch has deteriorated over the course of play.

It might be flat with no lateral movement but have uneven bounce or footmarks that can assist spin.
 
If curran wins this game for england then he is my man of the match not kohli imo.
