At the conclusion of Day 3, Rohit wears a broad smile as he walks off the pitch. What a day for India, rebounding from yesterday's setbacks caused by Bashir.

Jurel and Kuldeep displayed determination today, with Jurel's inspiring 90 ensuring a modest deficit of only 46. Riding on this momentum, India bowled brilliantly in the second innings, dismissing England cheaply. Ashwin led with the new ball, while Kuldeep mesmerized with the semi-new cherry, leaving England dancing to his tunes. Eventually, Ashwin secured his 35th Test fifer.

England's inexperience with spin was evident; they attempted to replicate India's success with new ball spin, but their lack of exposure showed. India capitalized on freebie full tosses and overcooked deliveries, almost wiping out the deficit without loss at a scoring rate of 5 runs per over.

India Playing XI:

England Playing XI: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (c), Ben Foakes †, Tom Hartley, Ollie Robinson, Shoaib Bashir, James Anderson

This match is not over .150 is a lots of runs if England can take both openers wickets early in the morning session then England can win the match .4th innings chase is never easy in subcontinent conditions .
First hour is very crucial and England should open the bowling with Bashir and Anderson.

India still needs to score 150 runs in 4th inning. Not likely but India can collapse as well if Eng keeps it tight.

Nervous day for Indian fans. England can create some pressure with good field sets. Couple of umpire's call, couple of low bounce deliveries is all it takes to trigger a panic.

Only once in last 10 years
India successfully chased 150+ target in Tests

It was in the historical Gabba Test of Jan 2021.

This will be a very comfortable chase for Ind. Kuldeep showed the pitch is not a minefield when he batted. Ind just needs to be positive and not go into a shell and this will be a pretty easy chase. 3-1 scoreline loading

This is what gonna happen today,

Rohit and Gill out in first half n hour

Jadeja comes out to dig a well and going nowhere while Jaiswal tries to up the ante.

After drinks, Jadeja out to a forward defense to a long hopper. Sarfaraz and Jaiswal gets out before lunch. Ind 90-5 at lunch. Star of the session, Jadeja 6(67)

Rest are a given. 140 AO..
Eng win by 50 odd

Batting is easier in the first session. I expect India to wrap this up after lunch :mc

I'll give India 60-40 at this point. If they can last half an hour without losing a wicket, it'll be 80-20. Most of our guys are natural strokeplayers so runs will come. It's a question of batting the 50 overs.

In these low scoring totals, I have more faith on Ashwin than Jadeja. Hopefully, India don't have to expect a lot from Ashwin.

India 71/0
Need another 121 runs to win the game .match slightly now in favour of india. But one two wickets can change the things dramatically

Yep clearly India's at this point. 120 to chase and all 10 in hand. Would be one of the most catastrophic collapses to lose from here.

We've got to make the next hour count though. Best behaved pitch of the day.

Indian commentators praising Joel Wilson whilst completely ignoring the fact that spike clearly came from the bat hitting the pad.

Oh come on.there is a thin little murmur on the UltraEdge as the ball passes the bat. It was clear not out.

need to bring target under 50 within this session only.. second session onwards ball starts misbehaving.
Hopefully BCCI has done some Generative AI pitch manipulation @Nikhil_cric

We got to roll the pitch twice in 8 overs so it should play OK for another hour maybe. They are rightly cutting down that target quickly.

After the effects of the roller die out, it's anybody's guess but ball will misbehave significantly.

Yup this is called smart batting and such aggressive batting in Test Matches has been happening since time immemorial.
Just that English pundits and players always look to overhype simplistic stuff.

Yes but when those cracks open up due to too much roller it's can be explode .

There was daylight between bat and ball and clear contact between bat and pad in the exact frame where the (single) spike appeared.

Still another 108 runs needed so thing can go very ugly .need to play very well

Bashir has promise for England. Still needs to develop some variations and gain some experience but the basics are there. Mystifying why Stokes chose not to start with him yesterday.

Ball is misbehaving now .not a good time if you are a batsman and chasing a target under immense pressure .

Gill is not last long here. Suddenly India feeling pressure after just one wickets

Yeah Gill's looking uncomfortable against Bashir. Undecided on attack Vs. defence. He looks a lot more clear in his plans against Hartley.

India I think batted very smartly to pick up quick runs after the pitch had been rolled. It will be more tricky from now on.

Still in awe of Kuldeeps performance from yesterday. Made me a fan really that spell was special and a joy to watch

He has always been a gun bowler. Just that he has been treated really shabbily by Kohli (a lot) and Rohit (a bit).

Yes checked his stats yesterday and was shocked to see he's played only 10 test matches

Big wicket for England .Rohit gone and this match is now anyone game. I think England is favourite as more than 90 runs needed

Just goes to show that 250 or even 220 would have been huge for England. I still don’t think 190 was enough. But a creditable effort this morning from England so far.

How did Patidar get selected for India? Looks way short of the standard required for international cricket. England are all over him whenever he comes to the crease.

A nothing spinner, Axar has played more tests than Kuldeep despite starting his career much later than Kuldeep as he can bat a bit.

What a pathetic decision by Dravid & Rohit to keep playing Patidar despite the fact that he is not in top-100 Indian batsmen.

Patidar will rue this time of his career and how he royally flunked 6 chances to make a case for his India career.

Had Foakes hit out after fall of 7 wickets, he could have added 30-40 more.

This test match should be the end card for patidar and bharat...now eng has a massive chance....
Come on india🎖🎖🎖

Need to find a way to score runs on this pitch .you just can't block every delivery.

This is what England did yesterday, just crawled into a hole and died. India need to be brave and play a couple of shots.

We are already playing a batsman less due to this stupid rule (from Kohli's days as captain) of always playing 5 bowlers. And if one of them is Patidar its really unfortunate for the balance of the team.

Would Padikkal have done any worse than this walking wicket Patidar?

These 2 are just playing into England's hands, just playing for lunch.

This is such a contrast from yesterday post tea session.

And who the hell has thought of promoting Jadeja ahead of Sarfaraz? Must be Dravid.
