What's new

Liverpool FC 2025/26 Season

what happened to Arsenal in the second half? Got absolutely schooled by the much maligned Liverpool midfield. Pitty Liverpool had powder puff front three, which meant they couldn't really capitalise on possession.

Frimpong is not the answer on right wing, as good as he was wriggling past the left back especially MLS, who he had on toast. His passing and crossing ability is severely lacking.

Sloth ball was in evidence, worked against Arsenal but it doesnt against teams that just sit deep. He should have brought Rio on for last 5 mins atleast to have a run at the Arsenal defence.

If we had our strikers, we would have won that. Considering the circumstances, I’d take a point anyday.
🤣🤣🤣 same guy who after match week 5 was celebrating "top of league"

16 matches later and your now happy with a point that keeps you 4th 🤣🤣🤣

Good lowering of standards 🤣🤣🤣

Liverpool's Bradley out for season with knee injury

Liverpool defender Conor Bradley has been ruled out for the rest of the domestic season after suffering a significant knee injury, involving damage to bone and ligament.

Bradley, 22, was forced off during Thursday's 0-0 Premier League draw at Arsenal after landing awkwardly near the touchline when chasing the ball in stoppage time.

The injury is not related to his anterior cruciate ligament but he will have surgery in the coming days.

The full-back is also now a major doubt for the World Cup if Northern Ireland qualify.

He will miss their difficult play-off semi-final in Italy on 26 March.

Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli later apologised for trying to push Bradley off the pitch when he was down injured.

Martinelli dropped the ball on his opponent before shoving him in the back in an attempt to get him off the playing surface to allow the game to continue.

That action sparked a melee between the two sets of players, with Martinelli and Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate both yellow-carded for their involvement.

Former Manchester United players Gary Neville and Roy Keane were both highly critical of Martinelli on Sky Sports, with Neville saying his actions were "absolutely disgraceful" and describing the Arsenal winger as an "idiot".

"I really didn't understand he was seriously injured in the heat of the moment," Martinelli posted on Instagram.

"I want to say I'm deeply sorry for reacting. Sending Conor all my best again for a quick recovery."

Since Trent Alexander-Arnold left for Real Madrid in the summer, Bradley has been Liverpool's first choice right-back, starting 12 of their Premier League games this season.

Manager Arne Slot's potential alternatives are limited with Joe Gomez as an option, while Dominik Szoboszlai has also slotted in as a full-back on occasion.

The more likely option is Jeremie Frimpong, who has been performing further forward down the right flank in recent weeks.

Seems wirtz found his level now, teams like Barnsley are just bought the level where he supposedly looks good now.

Wirtz is a flair skillful player, only 22. When he adjusts he will be one of the best players in the league, which suits LFCs playing style.

Wirtz wouldnt fit into Stoke City, not his game with long throw ins and free kicks inside their own half.

Wirtz will be scary and unstoppable 🤣🤣

We heard same over hyped bakwas about Liverpool this season.

Maybe get some ball knowledge before posting again

Seems Gykhores has zero levels. Worst signing of the season thus far.
Gyokeres has been awful, I can admit that.

Liverpool fans will always live in denial about their flops wirtz, isak, kerkez, frimpong

Wirtz and isak cost over 100M each and have been utter 🐶💩

Another win last night making it 11 matches unbeaten. Trickier tie with Brighton next, thankfully at home.

Not happy with the briefing to David Ornstein yesterday that we're gonna wait until the summer for defensive signings. We're down to the bare bones with Bradley out for the rest of the season. You cannot really count Joe Gomez as depth as he's constantly injured.

The World Cup means the pre-season will be truncuated so why not bed somebody in now and improve our chances of CL football and winning silverware ? I hope that's just a negotiating stance to show we're not desperate.

Spending so much but not buying a quality central defender is one of the biggest mess ups in the clubs transfer history.

Liverpool were too relaxed last night, 4-1 is not a fair score as the opposition was better in the 2nd half but had no finisher. Top 4 is the goal now and FA cup is the best chance of any silverware. CL is possible but a huge improvement needed.

Robertson keen to stay but 'wants to play football'

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson would like to remain at Liverpool beyond this summer when his contract expires - but says he's "a player who wants to play".

Robertson, 31, added that nothing has been decided yet, despite discussions with the club.

Asked if he would like to stay, the Scotland international said: "Yes, but it's a difficult question.

"I've got five months left and we need to see what the option is to stay or if there's options to go and things like that. I need to sit down with my family and decide.

"After a stressful summer, I'm just trying to enjoy being a part of it and being a Liverpool player.

"I wanted to qualify for the World Cup and thankfully we've managed to do that. I need to see what myself and my family wants going forward."

Robertson, who signed for Liverpool for £8m from Hull City in 2017 during Jurgen Klopp's reign, has played 362 times for the Reds but has started just four Premier League games this season.

Hungary international Milos Kerkez, 22, has been Liverpool's first-choice left-back since making the move from Bournemouth for £40m last summer.

Asked if the amount of game time he gets between now and the end of the season would have an impact on his future, Robertson said: "I can focus on the last eight and a half years. I think Jurgen Klopp left me out for one game and I was raging. So I'm a player who wants to play.

"I've played through injuries. I've played when I'm not 100% fit. I've played when I've only been 50/40/30% fit for this club and my country. I always want to be on the grass and playing and obviously now that's not happening, so that's what is different.

"I have a different role here this season which I'm getting enjoyment out of, but at the end of the day, footballers want to play and if anyone is sat happy on the bench, then they don't belong at any football club."

He continued: "That's always my argument, you should always want to push to be in the team. If you're happy to sit on the bench, then I don't think you have the right attitude.

"I think I've played well in the games I've played this season. Maybe I've not played as much as I would have liked, but it's nothing I've been surprised by. Let's see what happens."

Robertson confirmed he has had discussions with senior figures at Liverpool about the future but is keeping those details private.

After fellow defender Trent Alexander-Arnold left in the summer, Robertson was made Liverpool's vice-captain, and he said his relationship with the club's executives remains good.

"I've given absolutely everything for the club for the last eight and a half years and the club have been very good to me - they've rewarded me with good contracts when I have been playing well," he added.

"Nobody can deny what I have given to this club. I've given everything day in and day out and put in some performances which I think have been good, and I hope others agree - I've won a lot of trophies and had a lot of good days here.

"My relationship with the people higher up in the club has always been excellent since the day I came in. Signing me for £8m and then doing what I have done helps that, which I remind people of all the time!

"The relationship is good and it's not quite 'what do they need to show me and what do I need to show them' as we've shown each other more than enough respect over the last eight and a half years. We'll see what comes."
