What's new

Liverpool FC 2025/26 Season

what happened to Arsenal in the second half? Got absolutely schooled by the much maligned Liverpool midfield. Pitty Liverpool had powder puff front three, which meant they couldn't really capitalise on possession.

Frimpong is not the answer on right wing, as good as he was wriggling past the left back especially MLS, who he had on toast. His passing and crossing ability is severely lacking.

Sloth ball was in evidence, worked against Arsenal but it doesnt against teams that just sit deep. He should have brought Rio on for last 5 mins atleast to have a run at the Arsenal defence.

If we had our strikers, we would have won that. Considering the circumstances, I’d take a point anyday.
🤣🤣🤣 same guy who after match week 5 was celebrating "top of league"

16 matches later and your now happy with a point that keeps you 4th 🤣🤣🤣

Good lowering of standards 🤣🤣🤣

Impressive receipt retrieval.

Do you mind sharing your ones on the relegation battle that Liverpool were in? You obviously keep the Van twerk stuff to yourself.... let's not get into that one LOL

Liverpool's Bradley out for season with knee injury

Liverpool defender Conor Bradley has been ruled out for the rest of the domestic season after suffering a significant knee injury, involving damage to bone and ligament.

Bradley, 22, was forced off during Thursday's 0-0 Premier League draw at Arsenal after landing awkwardly near the touchline when chasing the ball in stoppage time.

The injury is not related to his anterior cruciate ligament but he will have surgery in the coming days.

The full-back is also now a major doubt for the World Cup if Northern Ireland qualify.

He will miss their difficult play-off semi-final in Italy on 26 March.

Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli later apologised for trying to push Bradley off the pitch when he was down injured.

Martinelli dropped the ball on his opponent before shoving him in the back in an attempt to get him off the playing surface to allow the game to continue.

That action sparked a melee between the two sets of players, with Martinelli and Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate both yellow-carded for their involvement.

Former Manchester United players Gary Neville and Roy Keane were both highly critical of Martinelli on Sky Sports, with Neville saying his actions were "absolutely disgraceful" and describing the Arsenal winger as an "idiot".

"I really didn't understand he was seriously injured in the heat of the moment," Martinelli posted on Instagram.

"I want to say I'm deeply sorry for reacting. Sending Conor all my best again for a quick recovery."

Since Trent Alexander-Arnold left for Real Madrid in the summer, Bradley has been Liverpool's first choice right-back, starting 12 of their Premier League games this season.

Manager Arne Slot's potential alternatives are limited with Joe Gomez as an option, while Dominik Szoboszlai has also slotted in as a full-back on occasion.

The more likely option is Jeremie Frimpong, who has been performing further forward down the right flank in recent weeks.

Seems wirtz found his level now, teams like Barnsley are just bought the level where he supposedly looks good now.

Wirtz is a flair skillful player, only 22. When he adjusts he will be one of the best players in the league, which suits LFCs playing style.

Wirtz wouldnt fit into Stoke City, not his game with long throw ins and free kicks inside their own half.

Wirtz will be scary and unstoppable 🤣🤣

We heard same over hyped bakwas about Liverpool this season.

Maybe get some ball knowledge before posting again

Seems Gykhores has zero levels. Worst signing of the season thus far.
Gyokeres has been awful, I can admit that.

Liverpool fans will always live in denial about their flops wirtz, isak, kerkez, frimpong

Wirtz and isak cost over 100M each and have been utter 🐶💩

Another win last night making it 11 matches unbeaten. Trickier tie with Brighton next, thankfully at home.

Not happy with the briefing to David Ornstein yesterday that we're gonna wait until the summer for defensive signings. We're down to the bare bones with Bradley out for the rest of the season. You cannot really count Joe Gomez as depth as he's constantly injured.

The World Cup means the pre-season will be truncuated so why not bed somebody in now and improve our chances of CL football and winning silverware ? I hope that's just a negotiating stance to show we're not desperate.

Spending so much but not buying a quality central defender is one of the biggest mess ups in the clubs transfer history.

Liverpool were too relaxed last night, 4-1 is not a fair score as the opposition was better in the 2nd half but had no finisher. Top 4 is the goal now and FA cup is the best chance of any silverware. CL is possible but a huge improvement needed.

Robertson keen to stay but 'wants to play football'

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson would like to remain at Liverpool beyond this summer when his contract expires - but says he's "a player who wants to play".

Robertson, 31, added that nothing has been decided yet, despite discussions with the club.

Asked if he would like to stay, the Scotland international said: "Yes, but it's a difficult question.

"I've got five months left and we need to see what the option is to stay or if there's options to go and things like that. I need to sit down with my family and decide.

"After a stressful summer, I'm just trying to enjoy being a part of it and being a Liverpool player.

"I wanted to qualify for the World Cup and thankfully we've managed to do that. I need to see what myself and my family wants going forward."

Robertson, who signed for Liverpool for £8m from Hull City in 2017 during Jurgen Klopp's reign, has played 362 times for the Reds but has started just four Premier League games this season.

Hungary international Milos Kerkez, 22, has been Liverpool's first-choice left-back since making the move from Bournemouth for £40m last summer.

Asked if the amount of game time he gets between now and the end of the season would have an impact on his future, Robertson said: "I can focus on the last eight and a half years. I think Jurgen Klopp left me out for one game and I was raging. So I'm a player who wants to play.

"I've played through injuries. I've played when I'm not 100% fit. I've played when I've only been 50/40/30% fit for this club and my country. I always want to be on the grass and playing and obviously now that's not happening, so that's what is different.

"I have a different role here this season which I'm getting enjoyment out of, but at the end of the day, footballers want to play and if anyone is sat happy on the bench, then they don't belong at any football club."

He continued: "That's always my argument, you should always want to push to be in the team. If you're happy to sit on the bench, then I don't think you have the right attitude.

"I think I've played well in the games I've played this season. Maybe I've not played as much as I would have liked, but it's nothing I've been surprised by. Let's see what happens."

Robertson confirmed he has had discussions with senior figures at Liverpool about the future but is keeping those details private.

After fellow defender Trent Alexander-Arnold left in the summer, Robertson was made Liverpool's vice-captain, and he said his relationship with the club's executives remains good.

"I've given absolutely everything for the club for the last eight and a half years and the club have been very good to me - they've rewarded me with good contracts when I have been playing well," he added.

"Nobody can deny what I have given to this club. I've given everything day in and day out and put in some performances which I think have been good, and I hope others agree - I've won a lot of trophies and had a lot of good days here.

"My relationship with the people higher up in the club has always been excellent since the day I came in. Signing me for £8m and then doing what I have done helps that, which I remind people of all the time!

"The relationship is good and it's not quite 'what do they need to show me and what do I need to show them' as we've shown each other more than enough respect over the last eight and a half years. We'll see what comes."

'If I had 15 attackers I'd be happy to have Salah back'

Mohamed Salah will return to Liverpool next week with boss Arne Slot saying he would be pleased to have the forward back even if he had "15 attackers".

For the past month Salah has been on international duty with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon), but he will head back to Merseyside after Saturday's third-place play-off against Nigeria.

The 33-year-old gave an explosive interview shortly before departing for Afcon, in which he claimed "someone doesn't want me in the club" and that he no longer had any relationship with Slot.

He was subsequently left out of the Liverpool squad for their 1-0 win at Inter Milan but came off the bench to register an assist against Brighton four days later.

Slot said before the Inter game he had "no clue" if Salah, who has scored 250 goals in 421 appearances for Liverpool, had played his last game for the club, but he is now ready to welcome him back.

"First of all, he needs to play another big game for Egypt on Saturday and then he comes back to us," said Slot.

"I am happy that he comes back. Mo has been so important for this club, for me, so I am happy that he is back.

"Even if I had 15 attackers I still would have been happy if he came back but that is not our current situation."

Liverpool are unbeaten in six games since Salah left for Afcon, winning three, and face Burnley at Anfield on Saturday (15:00 GMT).

But with record signing Alexander Isak out for a number of months after undergoing surgery on a left leg fracture, Slot will be glad to have his attacking options boosted.

The Reds travel to Marseille for a Champions League game on Wednesday but no decision has been made over whether Salah will be available for that, or if he will be held back until Bournemouth away on 24 January.

"We are talking together about [the Marseille game] now," Slot said.

"We are in talks with him about what is expected of him over there, what is expected over here. But first of all he needs to have an important game on Saturday and next week he will be back."

On his talks with Salah following the very public fallout last month, the Dutchman added: "What happens between Mo and me, on the phone or over here, stays between the two of us.

"And I don't think it is necessary for me to share all the private conversations I have."

Slot also confirmed that Liverpool have no further injury worries outside of long-term absentees Isak, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni.

A tale of two Liverpool legends

The key word in Arne Slot's news conference was that he will be 'happy' to have Salah back next week.

With Liverpool's injury problems, the return of the Egyptian is even more important. It remains to be seen whether Salah will have to get used to not being a regular starter but it is clear that a line has been drawn after the dramatic interview last month.

A player who is getting used to not being a regular starter is Andy Robertson and the Liverpool vice-captain spoke passionately about it earlier in the week, where he also outlined that a decision is yet to be made on his future beyond the summer, when his contract expires.

Slot was full of praise for Robertson saying that "the way he speaks is a big compliment".

Ultimately, it is a tale of two players who will go down in Liverpool history for all the right reasons and the manner in which they have dealt with no longer being regular names on the teamsheet.

Another pathetic performance it seems. We have lost our identity which Klopp instilled…and have become a borefest. Cannot wait for this season to end.

🤣🤣 looks like 6 teams scrapping for 4th place. Wirtz turned up atleast 🤭😉

The problem is that bald dutch manager he has now been exposed this season any other massive club would have sacked him some time ago.

Get rid and get maresca or think out of the box and go after lampard or fabregas.

Maresca is awful and nowhere near Slots level.

Lampard and cesc are not good enough to manage Liverpool

Liverpool should be looking at Alonso or Luis enrique

Alonso, Luis Enrique are more than good options. Plus Tuchel, Anchelloti, naglesmann maybe available after world cup

What's up Liverpool fans how we doing?
Absolutely fine... the result does not change the season as it looked a battle to get into the champions league

I can see Arsenal looking like they winning the title has embolened many a gooner.... receipts have no expiry... and do not just apply for 1 season or 2 seasons...

Why do your posts seem like Chris Eubank Snr has wrote them?

When arteta was appointed arsenal manager who did he manage ?

No one he was an assistant of guardiola

Who was maresca an assistant manager of guardiola

And what did guardiola say he praised Maresca as one of the best in the world,

Maresca plays the same style as guardiola and klopp the style called gegenpressing the counterpress alongwith with players give high work rates and intense pressure totally opposite to the bald dutch guy who is playing some players out of their natural positions
Just look how klopp used gravenberch as more attacking midfielder and baldy is using him in a more deeper role .

All of them are crying, call for manager to be sacked.

All this after they were proclaiming Liverpool would be unstoppable and scary.

Arsenal fans aren't allowed to comment on Liverpool because Arsenal fans are giving it large.

You haven't missed much Bro while you were away. The Liverpool fan base always playing the victims

🤣🤣 so now being Peps assistant is basically justification to be a good manager.

You clearly haven't watched Chelsea under Maresca, a team which blew hot and cold, we're exposed to be tactically inept when it came under pressure, also his squad management poor. That's why twice in 2 seasons after good starts they started to fall apart.

Maresca also had habit of playing players in wrong positions as well, much to the annoyance of Chelsea fans.

This guys in NO shape or form an upgrade on slot.

Gegenpress is easier said than done. Not every manager is built like Klopp…he had the personality to go with it..he was family. Guys like Pep/Klopp are very rare.

Lol do you know why that is?

Because they are preparing themselves for rejection.

They think nobody ever rejects them. Other day a Liverpool fan said Guehi is signing for Man City cos Liverpool haven't gone in for him otherwise he would sign for them. I tried to point out that he was probably offered a high salary but apparently Guehi is a religious guy and doesn't care about money 😂😂

The lengths they go to.

Liverpool definitely fumbled the Guehi transfer, they should have wrapped that up early summer, instead they stupidly left it deadline day. Guehi definitely joined City for money. But Liverpool shot themselves in foot.

If their fan base is already in manager rejection mode, then owners are will just match that lack of ambition with an underwhelming manager choice

Il mock you when ever I see fit. You Liverpool fans don't seem to understand this is a discussion forum
It's not Retard FC passion, Victims FC passion.

You kingcoward and plasticshield were running your mouths early in season and now you've been humbled you can't take it.

City took several titles from Liverpool.

They try to bill Pep vs Klopp like some generational rivalry. The reality is it was hardly a rivalry. The fact that Liverpool fans want Man City to win the league proves that.

I'd never in a million years want man United to win the league whoever they were up against. That rivalry will last for life mainly because united came out on top . Not like this dosti yaari friendship between citeh and pool.

Agree. Initially it was pretty close. After winning Covid Title, Pep blew Kopp out of the water and basically won everything.

Covid title? The title was already sealed by the time lockdown was announced so keep being bitter. When was the last time Arsenal won the title?

No I just find it odd. Each to their own.

Chris Eubank Snr was a good boxer after all.

YOUR rationale applied:

Must mean ALL arsenal fans have mock ups of grown men twerking that they keep on their computers/in the "closet".

Apt cohort are the Arsenal fans aka "THE rainbow Army"

Correction:

Some Liverpool fans.

Others and many like myself i know- frankly, we do not care who wins, however, if Arsenal were to bottle this... oh i worry for their psyche...

Sorry. I didnt mean to belittle Liverpool’s success for winning the Title. Just a short answer around the time when Klopp won his only Title. By the way I'm a UTD fan who has full respect for Liverpool’s achievements.

Hes got his prayer mat hoping Arsenal don't win league.

As he can then go into full troll mode then, hes another one whose butt hurt from the criticism Liverpool is getting and can't take it.

he's another one of the "you can't comment on Liverpool" unless your club has won something.

You will soon notice the trend with all of them brother.

So you don't care but you care if Arsenal bottle it...

So, the 2 are linked?

I can see comprehension is not a string point amongst the rainbow army....

Do not care who wins.

If Arsenal bottle it, it would be embarassing... that is not an implication of wanting someone to win.

LOL, with dear manchild- what a bunch you rainbow army are!

Prayer mat?! Cool, edgy banter is back dear manchild- definitely not lame, you can still kick it with the kids..

Why no meme? That woukd be cool, edgy..

Comment on Liverpool- no issues, it is the hypocrisy and fallacies that need calling out.

Rainbow army and hypocrisy run wild... (alongside comprehension issues) and tha patriarch of the rainbow army is a ringing example

Oh and dear manchild, woof woof!

I'll let you in on something... It doesn't make you seem cool or smart. In all honesty it comes across weird and desperate.

Anyway this obsession with rainbows and typing like Chris Eubank Snr makes me wonder... What do you identify as?

Validation on a forum, i know the gooners get that validation online, the cool edgy crowd.... some of us are happy with it in real life...

Identify as? I certainly would not have mockups of other grown men (if that helps).. i can see you are happy to rationalise that, each to their own.... as for glitches, working a shift at the hospital and short amount of type to post.

So someone's special needs 4 year child, written posts are because they are busy at work and short staffed 🤣🤣

Same person who wants to mock others about supposedly having no life etc..

Yet another Liverpool fan exposed for their nonsense..
