Another thrilling day of Test match cricket unfolded. Despite the pitch being reused, effectively making it a day 8 surface, it has more than compensated for the slow pace of the first game. This Test has been captivating from the very first day, and today was no different.

England, resuming at 239/6, managed to reach 291 in their first innings, giving Pakistan a handy 75-run lead. Sajid Khan was the standout performer, claiming a brilliant seven-wicket haul. The last-wicket pair for England added 29 crucial runs, with all 10 wickets falling to the spinners.

In response, Pakistan faced early trouble, losing three quick wickets to Bashir as England fought back. However, valuable contributions from Ghulam, Shakeel, and Rizwan steadied the innings. Even so, England kept chipping away at the wickets, using a combination of reverse-swing and spin to maintain the pressure.

Teams:

Pakistan
(Playing XI): Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood(c), Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan(w), Agha Salman, Aamer Jamal, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Zahid Mahmood

England (Playing XI): Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes(c), Jamie Smith(w), Matthew Potts, Brydon Carse, Jack Leach, Shoaib Bashir

Should be a total that's defendable but who can trust Pakistani bowling these days. If they are to win one of Sajid or Nauman will need to be great.

Root is the main man.

He is not only at the peak of his powers but also a terrific player of spin. More than capable of scoring a century on this type of wicket.

PCT can defend this even if Root scores. No need to stop Root.

Will Stokes step up for once outside England?

If India scores 400+ runs in second inning with bat, Root fails and Pakistan still loses the test match, the weekend will be sweeter. :shakib

Just kidding, hope no one minds it.

Bro bro its crazy how england is looking so nervy. Amusing to watch. And as i type this, BIG WICKET, root goneeeee!! Rabri walay chacha does it again. Brilliant!

Good bye Mr. 260. Clueless batting. Can't sweep each and every delivery 😃

Nomi bhai's guile stems from 30 yrs of FC experience

Nauman gets the massive wicket of Root. Gotta think it's going to be nearly impossible for England to chase this now without him.

Noman chacha is more impressive than sajid tinda but Sajid tinda has extraordinarily well in this match

It's all fun and games cops n robbers dunkin donuts when the wicket is flat or easy to bat on.... When going got tough Root became a magician, he disappeared from sight...

I haven't woken up to watch Pakistan play for a long time until today...I am believing again! Let's hope this is not short term...btw does anyone know whose out-of-the-box idea was to use the same pitch as the last match? Surely, it can't be someone from the Pakistan camp? This is exactly what is needed...

Dont think you can go whole day playing sweeps. Its just too high risk cricket.

Aqib Chad Javed is the brain behind this. Hes also the one that dropped Saya group folks.

England will go out dying and trying.

That's just their way. As I said Keep watching till the end, England ain't gonna give up and pakistan need to make sure not to bottle it which they have a habit of doing

Yes, thats true and well known. Good for the game!

Wild to see England sweeping and reverse sweeping everything. It does make you realize how few Pakistani's do conventional sweeps and the reverse sweeps is essentially non-existent.

Tried to play a non sweep and hes gone. Is Brook gonna call daddy Aqib after this, after all he is a OG qalandari boy.

Out as soon as they try another shot other than sweeps. Massive massive wickets from Nauman in this session and England seem close to finished.

Need stokes out and we got the game pretty much in the bag. Let me believe. :sree
Naw pak has won now. England ain't chasing this.

They'll keep going at it and keep faltering. It's always do and die with this lot

You have to appreciate Mohsin for being quick with changes if something doesnt work. He kept trying different combos until he activated the Aqib Chad Javed era and death of Saya cancer.
