Pakistan Vs South Africa: Test 1: Day 4 Score updates and comments

Disgraceful, disgraceful - If a Pakistani even looks at a batsman then its a ban and a fine but these b******s can use racist insults and noone bats an eyelid?

Who can we email about this, because we ALL heard it.

The more e-mails we send the better chance there is of this Nazi cricketer getting banned, whoever it was.

I guess we need to send it to the official broadcaster of the series......who are they? Supersport? Who are Sky getting the feed from?

pressure situations...i would rite now surely put my money of SAF!!...they r in the drivers seat..they know if Inzi goes they will grab Pakistan!

Inzi is our only hope of a survival in this Test!...C'mon Big Man show us ur class!!!

So what if someone says Pakistani, you guys are to thin skinned when it comes to taking a bit of stick. Read some of your own posts when talking about other countries before you start complaining about racism, I'm starting to think you guys are more hypocritical than those dam indians.

I hope our players dont get too worked up about this. This is the whole idea - its the umpires, Bucknor and Doctorove who are in charge and can also hear this on the field!

Incompetence comes in many shapes and forms.

Guys I usually don't post but I feel obligated to step in ...

Two things,

1) What I heard was 'f***ing Pakistanis'

2) The commentators were not claiming it came from the crowd. What the commentator said was

'I hope that came from the crowd because otherwise there are going to be serious repercussions. Anyhow, that's for the match referee to decide'

That's a far cry from 'commentators claiming it came from the crowd' as everybody is suggesting ..

Maybe its a cultural thing - I suppose this is very common where you come from ? In which case, your ignorance is understandable.

That sounds reasonable.

I didn't hear it, but if it was "f'ing Pakistanis" - I don't think that's a big deal personally.

Anyway about the match situation - Pak is in real strife. They need to conjure up another 150 runs at least to put SA under some pressure. Let's hope Inzi scores a big one and Faisal can at least hang around for a while. 6 wickets to go and 150 runs - surely Pak can manage that.

it will be tough...with only two specialist batsmen & 1 allrounder(Kamran)!...our tail is long & guys like Nazir,Asif & Danish r purely useless with the bat

everything depends on this partnership of Inzi & Faisal!

See there you go, you say something that is along racial lines to be offensive and abusive just to show how you are hypocritical. Learn to be a man.

Inzi is the key now.

56 for 4 effectively. Anything less than 150 and we can safely say, bar a miracle, that South Africa have won this match. If we can get another 100 runs then we are not totally out of the game if someone can muster some magic or something special but really the aim from here should be to get to 200, which would give us a real fighting chance. Another 144 runs..........Inzi will have to bat the innings and Faisal will have to chip in with 20-30 at least.

This is 100% accurate, I just didn't feel like writing it up earlier.

There was no biased shown. If anything, he acknolwedged the comments. He could have easily glossed over them just an over before lunch.

It wasn't a cover up, infact it was an indictment that anyone making those comments should be reprimanded. Too, the part about coming from the crowd was more of a distressed, disbelief, disappointing rue of sarcasm, as he and all the viewers know the comment came from the field.

Fish, another thing in our culture is to over-dramatize everything.
Don't let this change your decision to stay ;).

Fish- I suggest you read this up properly.......they didn't just say 'Pakistani'. There was a lot more to it than that....including possibly a reference to going back to the zoo.

I'm watching match on Willow and you can hear the commentators talking in the background. Here's what they're saying:

-SA really need to win this one as Pak will get better and better as the series goes.
-One SAF commentator said that he honestly believes Pak will be the stronger side of the two
when Shoaib, Gul and Yousuf come back.
-He thinks the SAF's are nervous and anything more than 180 will take some getting.
They especially talked of Kaneria and how good his control was in first inning.
-They believe the ball is taking quick turn and thus Kaneria can be a handful.
-They think Pak has a better batting line than India full of stroke makers and it should be a very entertaining and tight series.

guys just get over with this sledging stuffs & concentrate on the match...thats exactly what SAF main reason behind this is to make the pakistani players angry & make them play falls shot in aggression!

So why get all bent out of shape over it, its just a sledge and designed to upset the batsman. It would only be hurtful if he did come from the zoo, other than that why would you even bother worring about it.

Really? Well, you probably dont remember the last time SA were in Pak and Shoaib called Adams a w****r and then got banned for the next test.

but we are not Pakistani players so we can get angry about this.

It wasn't sledging, it was racist. Big difference.

Yeah I remember that. Was a classic.

OK.......it is a cultural thing I guess in your circles using that sort of language and equating people from a particular country to the zoo is normal. Fine....well it isn't normal for us and it is quite insulting and offensive for us.

Agreed. Personally I would think it would only hurt someone insecure enough to feel like they did come from a zoo.

I don't think there's anything specifically racist towards Pakistanis in a comment like that and a sledge like that could be used for any team.

Come on mate I read this forum and you guys are as racist as the next bloke. In fact I see more racism on this board than I ever see in Australia.

So what is the strategy now ? Current scoring rate is setting us back ! We need more singles - forget boundaries or big shots - we need to get the lead upto 150 atleast and then push towards 200+

Fish - if your objective is to cause reaction, then I can help you on your way, otherwise - make an argument or move on.

these guys are meant to be role models for kids so shouldnt really be setting bad examples. that's the difference between them and us on the net saying so called racist remarks.

Faisal is an almost lost cause but this is tailor-made for him as it is a second innings with ball keeping low and the spinner hoping to bowl longish spells with the new ball 20 overs away-so go Faisal-Allah madad!!
Inzi and Akmal have'nt been in the best of forms but play well with the back against the wall-So here's hoping and praying!!
Another 150 and we have a match!!

What are you implying here.

With Inzi --rotating the strike is going to happen--I am a dreamer ;-)
Faisal had the right idea but Inzi is Inzi!!

Dangerous shot from Faisal - played in the air, but gets 4.

All this talk about the South African team using racial slurs - how about we wait until the verdict is in from the match referee? It reminds me of the time when Scott Muller debuted for Australia a few years back, and after a very average performance, one of the microphones picked up the comment "Can't bowl, can't throw" The general consensus was that Warne had said it. It turned out later that it was, in fact, a channel 9 camera man.

As for the South African cricket team, I've actually had the privilege of meeting the entire team and getting to know them fairly well during my sports tour in South Africa for the Aus vs South Africa Test series. My opinion of Nel before I met him was one of a complete ******, but it turns out he's a true gentleman (just suffers from a severe case of white line fever) - and I can tell you now that he's no racist. If there were any players I have my doubts about, it'd be Smith and Boucher. But still, there's no call for slinging accusations until the facts are in.

Four from Faisal. He can play his whole life if he scores 100 today!

Salam everybody!
169 - 4. Inzi is the key here. will be interesting to see how faisal plays today. Farhat played a brave and gutsy innings according to me.

Inzi struggling a bit with the leg-stump line from Harris- He should not lose his cool- Faisal is also catching the Pull-hook bug!!

Dropped by Boucher. Faisal has to put the pull shot away, just not playing it well enough.

faisal looking dodgy in general but more dodgier agst harris. spin expert my a$$.

They are MashaAllah doing well with singles and positive running- Faisal needs to remain positive, his technique is not good enough to keep blocking.
Spoke too soon!!!!!!
Faisal gone :30:

this guy is a looney dont hook how many times have you been out hooking you dipstick

Faisal gone, what a poor shot in the circumstances!

Pakistan 5 down, hopefully faisal wont play for pakistan again!

The inevitable happens, and as usual brainless cricket by Iqbal, and he's out caught!

Hopefully this is his last appearance for Pakistan.

Its all down to inzi and akmal again, if we can get lead to 170-90 we have a chance of winning the game.

faisal walks back to pavilion and hopefully walks into an early retirement

The best thing to do in this situtation is to counter-attack - defending won't get you anywhere

single for inzi to deep sqaure leg.

Pak 176/5 (lead 72)

no wonder younis resigned when he heard faisal was in the icc trophy squad

Well they need to play their natural game. A good partnership of 50 will put SA under pressure but can we do it ?

good ball from kallis, akmal does well to avoid it.

anoth 100 runs from somewhere gentlemen please !

Akmal can play his shots while Inzi can stay calm and carry the Innings through as he plays well with the tail-Hope I don't jinx it!!

HAHA! Our emails have worked! jackman said they have been handed onto the authorities!

If pakistan can get lead 0f 190 runs then i will go as far to say we will win this test match.
