Let’s discuss about the contracts - maybe you give what you had in mind and I can give you my opinion?

Respected Quetta Gladiators member, I need to know your thoughts regarding player role changes, contracts and team strategy. If you all can provide your input then it would be great.

As a captain I have considered the idea of Watsupdoc that is as follows:

- Manager101 - to a pure Bat
- Hamad_H - to a pure fast bowler
- MenInG - to a bowling A/R (back-up emerging A/R)


After thinking for a while, I agree with these player changes considering our home ground will have high bounce and to give us an additional variety in bowling department, MenIng bowling style can be changed to Slow Left-arm Spin (SLA) as an bowling A/R.

Secondly, as we need to assign contracts to all members considering various factors, I am thinking to assign them as follows:

Platinium - Hamad_H (Right arm-fast)
---------------------------------------------------
Diamond - WhatsupDoc (WK/ Left-Hand Batsman)
---------------------------------------------------

Gold - Greenstorm (Right-arm Legspin)
---------------------------------------------------

Silver - Abdul (RHB) , Manager101 (Left-Hand Batsman), imshally81 (Right-arm Offspin)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emerging - MenInG (SLA / Bowl A/R) , Sadida97 (RHB), Hermoine Green (LF), LastManstanding (RMF)

Please give your thoughts on this and also I would like to request all of you to be active in this thread to support your team in PCL #PSL (Season 3).

I think the team contracts are good in terms of 3 batsmen and 3 bowlers in silver-platinum category so we are a balnced side and we can use either our intl. batsmen or seamers depending on the pitch making us look very strong. I don't know what kind of combo the sim prefers but for the starting XI combo, a 5 bowlers tail sounds a bit worrrying but if that is what works then so be it. Thisara is a good pick since his bowling is pretty much the same as the emerging pure fasts and his batting is much better so for key games/poor pitches he could be very useful. Are ARs that poor in the sim that teams play 5 bowlers.

Yes, according to some experienced PCL players, ARs seem to be very expensive while bowling and their batting has very little affect on match results. Although on just in case basis, we have two Bowl ARs and one Pure AR if the pitch is extremely bowling friendly.

I think these look fine. The only suggestion I would have is to swap the categories for Hermione and imshally81. It would give us more flexibility and also given our home conditions I am thinking that we would like to go with 4 pacers and 1 spinner in most cases, in which case I think it makes more sense to give the silver contract to a fast bowler rather than a spinner.

The other thing you might want to consider is giving diamond to yourself and silver to me (As trade-off seems better in terms of skill, placement and aggression points) - but it's up to you.

Our playing XI most likely would look like this:

1) Emerging Bat
2) Silver Bat
3) Silver Bat or W/K
4) Diamond W/K or Bat
5) Int Bat (Emerging - most matches)
6) Emerging Bat
7) Platinum Bowl (RF)
8) Gold Bowl (LS)
9) Silver Bowl (LF)
10) Emerging Bowl (RMF or OS) - depending on conditions
11) Int Bowl (Emerging in Most Cases) / Int A-R (depending on conditions)

lol, don't worry man, I have played some browser based simulated cricket games like battrick, fromthepavalion, stumps, hitwicket, etc and in most of them when teams are at equal strength, then the random factor comes in a lot. By the way, Greenroar is not in our squad, it's GreenStorm.

Anyway, considering all the suggestions and our team combination, I have made few final changes, which are as follows:

1. [MENTION=38337]imshally81[/MENTION] will stay in Silver category due to his good involvement in this thread and competition but his playing role will change to Left arm Fast since our home conditions favors faster bowlers.

2. [MENTION=146141]Hermoine Green[/MENTION] will play as an offspinner at emerging category as we will need him in spin friendly pitches mostly away.

3. [MENTION=55088]Watsupdoc[/MENTION] will stay at Diamond because WK/bat have +5 Aggression better than pure bats and we will need you to give us a flying start, even 30 runs in 10 balls would be decent

With that, we have utilized all available player role changes and I will submit our final squad to league admins since we have only 1 day left to do that.

Hopefully, All members of QG will be satisfied with the decisions.

I don't mind being interim VC but I won't be able to log on during 8am-3pm GMT from Monday-Friday due to college so I'll only be active after 3pm so I don't know whether that will be a problem.
