Eng can pull off a win here. It's going to be hard to chase a total under these conditions.

Eng may even add 40-50 on top of 175. Eng is a huge favorite here. Every 10 runs from here will take the game further way from India.
 
This isn't fair. It's India vs South Africa & England.
 
Bring shami in against curran he will get few edges atleast. (Depends if dhawan wants to catch those though)
 
We just need to try and bowl a bunch of dot balls. Might fetch a wicket.
 
Heading towards 200, ball swinging and our fragile top and middle order minus Kohli. It's game over for India.
 
I can't hate Dhawan and DK enough right now. Bhaad mein jaaye NidhanDas Tropy.. nahi chahiye. :sanga
 
Eng has enough runs if they bow well. India will find it very hard to score 200 runs if they bowl well.
 
They're scoring runs like it's an ODI.

Technique is overrated nowadays,especially in good batting conditions.Curran's batting will improve,he is only 20.It's the mentality shown here that's remarkable.

I am comparing the style of Cricket. This slam bang approach from Curran has been technically deficient in a big way, so I would still rate him a better bowler than batsman unlike the poster I quoted. Such counter-attacks don't come off every time.
 
Youngsta beauty Curran has shocked india. That's all it takes for one man to take the attack to the bowlers and bring back the initiative
 
Eng needs to add another 20-30 runs here.
 
Let's not underestimate that in a 5 test series all this gives England some good momentum going into the remaining tests - win or lose.

In 2014 we started to wilt halfway into the tour under similar circumstances.

This match is like 1st Test in South Africa all over again. Similar conditions, similar drops and now a similar chase.
 
35/3 in our chase will spell bad news.
 
Well, 194 is lots of runs in these conditions with Anderson and Co.
 
England would be having bit of momentum and confidence with that come back from 87/7
 
194 is a herculan task for Indian batting lineup. It needs a miraculous effort from Rahul or Kohli to win this test match with the bat.

If he fires, this will be an ATG test from him. If he doesn't, it's still one of the great test knocks in the first innings

WUT? this guy is bowler who can bat a bit and he is just 20 year old and you comparing with one of the best batsman in world atm.
 
A Kohli 50 and an India win would be the first steps towards Kohli eclipsing the God. :sachin

Can't understand the pessimism, India will surely chase this <200 score. They should win by 3-4 wickets imo

They already have been otherwise India would be far behind. It's evened things out now.

Well they were much more generous than Indian fielders in the first innings.
 
Everyone now understands the value of Fab 4 (not just their batting, but their slip catching as well - Dravid, Laxman, Sachin & Sehwag were brutally brilliant in slip catching! Forget regulation catches, even quarter or 1/8th chances were grabbed! They wouldn't have let any of these go down! Hell even Sadagopan Ramesh was very good at short leg!) If they had the luxury of this decent bowling attack, they would have won all the overseas tours for sure!

Plus these kind of bowling conditions (they were mostly fed with flat pitches resulting to bowling shootout or draw!)
 
I say advantage England given that they have better swing bowlers to use the conditions. 3 of them are good swing bowlers. One of them all time great swing bowler.
