lol that is not going to be happen, if anything he will be hailed as a hero by the indians for his "fighting" knock

He provided resistance which is a plus, but the batting with the last five guys has to be slammed, he showed no interest in the team whatsoever. Most of the wickets were frustrated slogs, a better batsman would have farmed the strike and avoided such situations

Absolute humiliation! I don't care even if we win the series from now(which looks next to impossible anyway)! Mauled by the English against spin! I wonder to what depths we could stoop!

You're right, it was pretty clear to see that Gautam was playing for himself and his spot rather than the team :sachin

:haha selfish ghambir gone, tried to increase his average by being not out, failed miserably:))

not mauled by the english...they can have all their south african imports, but they needed to stand on the shoulders of a son of sardar to beat us..the only team that must be ashamed of this victory, it should be the english.

Ok guys...

Some quick wickets to send jitters early..

Remember OZ 47 against SA

It's relentless :91:

Fair play if India do win, you would probably have something to do with it! Great effort!

Umpiring was awful this match, it's a shame especially since guys like Dar are often very good umpires. Though might finally push UDRS through. Last time when umpires had a shocker like Bucknor, he was pretty much forced out but this is slightly different as Dar is currently the best current umpire arguably. Think this will go a long way changing some people's minds about UDRS. One of the main purposes of it is to get rid of these umpire shockers.

Nothing wrong in what Gambhir done..atleast he gave us some lead...what about others

Whatever..This is a big let down

Cricinfo

England spinners have taken 19 wickets between them in 121.2 overs. India spinners - the specialists - have bowled 103.3 overs for just nine wickets. If England win and India lose, that's where the match was won and lost

Gambhir is selfish?! Atleast he gave us 50+lead with those singles...

lol what hell? Monty was born in England and is English. why are you trying to link him with India, just cause of his religion/background?

lol I've switched from Sky to Indian commentary to enjoy the climatic moaning

i know he was born in england and is a UK citizen...but his forefathers are from india.. if he was in india, he wouldnt have to anglicize his name to monty.. the only player in the england team who doesnt use his proper name

Great shot, Compton! See mate, let's get more confident in Tests 3 and 4

Can I get a link to Indian coverage too... I am Not enjoying the sky coverage :p

Hopefully openers will show aggressive intent to score these 50 runs and they may carry it to the next match. 👍

Looks like this is not turning out good day

India almost losing and SA escape by draw :(

Another four to Compton, reverse sweep out of the rough!

Yuvraj was never catching that lol :inzi

They've played this run chase superbly I must say. Maybe lessons have been learnt.

Compton playing beautifully, Cook doesn't want to get out I suppose. But who could blame Cook for his less aggressive style, his wicket wont be sold cheaply.

A beautiful reverse sweep to Compton. This guy has his shots, I'd like to see him bat without pressure. He's played good defensive stands last match and this too. Hopefully we'll get a class opener out of him. We lacked that with Strauss in his waning years, despite my massive respect for his captaincy and leadership.

performers in this match:
india 1 century, 2 fifties, 3 5-wicket hauls
south africa 1 century
england 1 century

real winner is INDIA

These jokes are getting old.

Especially since it's even more of a stretch to point of English born players of Indian descent than the Saffer contingent that was born in Saffaland.

i am talking about ethnicity, not nationality

What is there to learn? 58 is hardly a target... and the mind set is different.
