I think we will be done by 145 unless Butt plays an Asim Kamal like innings.
 
everyone knew that if the aussies could only manage 250 then pakistan are bound to do something horrendous
 
Gul goes quite predictably.. was facing the majority of the strike strangely.

Give gul 1-2 balld towards the end of the over. not the full over. maybe later he can risk it but not yet!
 
Had the top and middle order batsmen that failed, all scored 30 runs, we would be in the lead right now.
 
I dont think Butt has lasted this long to bat with the tail lol. He should seek advice from Hussey how to play with the tail.

What a man that Watson seems to be ....A great allrounder.... Plays a lot of good long innings....Takes wickets regularly...be it in tests or T20 or ODI....Changes and adapts his game as per fprmat

Butt seems to have a lot of faith in the tailenders.

Maybe he just wants to save his own wicket.
 
We should just play with a T20 mentality if with a test match mentality we only get 130 odd runs. At least this way we know we can score 191 on them in 20 overs
 
Once again my heart goes out to our bowlers...They'll be disheartened after this batting performance and if this trend continues to happen again and again then expect our bowlers to start perfoming badly too!!!

There's only so much they can give before being completely deflated by our inept batting..

Wasn't really Salman's fault. It's not like he was taking a single on the first ball and leaving Gul to face most of the over. Gul kept taking a single on the 5th or 6th ball. Perhaps, Salman should have refused the runs at that juncture.
 
Very bad strategy by the vice captain, how about shielding the tail so you can cut down the deficit?
 
Butt playing like chanderpaul,who always expose talender to bowler by taking single.

It depends on the delivery. Do you really think bowler will let that happen? We have no choice but hope for Danish to save the wicket.

Spoke to soon. Butt thought he had some to have a cup of tea and read a newspaper before attempting to play that shot and was suitably late.

Salman Butt innings comes to end with 63. Good innings never the less.

this is not a shock... it always happen nothing new with pakistan batting...
 
Butt needs to take as much as strike every over and shield the tail... OH NOOO Butt clean bowled by a yorker from twatson !
 
Great knock by butt.

So aus have 120 lead, need to bowl them out for 150 max and bat like demons.

What the hell is he lifting his bat for?! I would just trudge off and scream my lungs out at the jokers pretending to be batsmen in the dressing room
 
Looks like 250 was a very very good score against this spectacular pakistan batting line up, 100 runs over par score
 
Great innings under the circumstances by Butt. Sadly he didn't have a single reliable partner.
 
The pattern of our play is predictable.

Bowl well 1st innings - restrict the team to an OK score.

Bat rubbish 1st innings and make their score seem huge.

Bowl rubbish 2nd innings and the opposition score over 400.

Chase 500 last innings........... and bat rubbish again and lose by 350 runs.

My prediction....we will lose by around 350 runs. That's about par and reflects the difference between the 2 teams.
 
Actually, let's just declare so there's no chance of Asif getting out first ball like he's likely to do so
 
Its all IMRAN FARHAT'S FAULT. IF HE HADNT GOT OUT, THIS COLLAPSE WOULDNT HAVE HAPPENED. Like my theory, Want to blame some one, We'll blame him :)
 
Weather forecast in NW7 (15/20 mins drive away from Lords)...

30 or 40 people have hit the streets doing the rain dance yet unfortunately the cloud seems high and there is little prospect of the game being curtailed today...

Here's hoping for some rain tomorrow!!!
