A crucial day for the Pakistani batsmen with 3 spots still up for grabs for the first test against SA.

Both youngsters are under-pressure as they are fighting for their spots
 
Really poor stuff , I hope they get aome practice though. Ideal batting to get the bowlers in rythm.

just think by placing yourself in their place, both of them are fighting for one spot, one rash shot can shatter their dreams, i can uderstand them going at slow pace
 
This is the best time to bat in a test match.

Second day of the match , little bit of freshness which is usually there in the pitch during first one hour of the day won't be there also.

So, I expect them to give Saffers a good practice with the ball now.

Looks like both batsmen are just playing for themselves rather than the team here.

Does not have to be a rash shot to score some runs, the way they are playing it is more likely that they get out on 20 odd runs. Scoring is survival for them.
 
Man slow start and loot at how the saffers went and they are going.

I think in the added pressure of a possible test debut is playing it's part..

They just dont want to get out
 
Glad to see our youngstar openers playing their natural aggressive game now they're no longer burdened with Misbah's negative mindset.
 
Wont be shocked if Misbah is blamed for the way these two are batting! :misbah

What are you onto? Blaming Misbah for everything. It's 30 runs in 17 overs. Is this the aggressiveness your'e talking about? Run Rate less than 2?

umm in case somebody missed it. Cricinfo in showing commentary of this match now... masood just hit philander for four.

Good effort, rather than whining about their S/Rs i think we should appreciate the effort put in by them
 
Hafeez must be wondering how Shehzad hit those two fours to Steyn...
 
Now how they deal with spinners will be counted as we will have spinning pitches.
 
I hope both these youngster do well and cement their place in Pakistan squad so that :hafeez is not required for Tests any more

Those of you saying these guys are slow, of course they're slow at this stage, it's the start of the innings, and you can see they're slowly opening up... the last 10 overs have been at 4.50RPO.
 
Shehzad has gone from a S/R of 20 up to 55.... good intent from him, I hope he can perform at the international level if he gets selected...
 
:four by masood. steyn is messing with us. he will bowl those dangerous outswingers in the match., :p :p
 
Selectors should remain open to option of selecting both Shan and shehzad
